samsparkles, 8 July, 2008 at 12:54 Posted on Planning 0 19

Hiya

Just need some inspiration for cake ideas, we want to go for something quite plain and simple... our colour theme is hot pink and white.

Pics appreciated!

Thanks

I have a few saved in my flickr as I am really undecided. Not sure if we are even having one at yet! Could even be a cheese one after seeing another thread!

    We are having similar colours!

This is mine although I am changing a few bits and making it sparkly. The yellow stems in the callas are being changed to crystal stems and I'm making a wire decoration with crystals to go around the cakes. We are having a separate cutting cake and having fruit, vanilla sponge and chocolate.

its the milk and white choc present stack on pg 66 - there is a pink present stack there too and another pink (although not hot pink) on pg 57...

I'm having this but without the gold lettering on the side and also without the flowers on the top.

    We're having this:

I call it the Ermentrude (sp?) cake!

We're modifying it though and having gerberas with brown centres rather than the daisies and having alternating brown and gold ribbon on the tiers.

    Hiya

Why not go for a plain white cake of whatever shape you like i.e square, oval, round etc. and have a broad hot pink ribbon around the edge of the cake. You could have a small arrangement of hot pink and white flowers put on the top tier?

If you did it american style where the cakes are sat directly onto each other rather than tiered on a stand it would look really striking but be fairly simplistic.

This is the kind of style I'm looking for at the moment, as I'm liking the idea of having orange in my colour scheme because it would be different and suit a summer wedding (hope this works, never attached a photo before!)

EDITED to add....GRRR I really can't get my head around how to post a photo! I had the URL, clicked on the little picture icon and entered it - do you really have to know the picture dimensions etc to be able to post it in a thread? Maybe it was because I was doing it from my photobox account...?

All my pics are from my Flickr account so that shouldn't be the problem. Just wanted to check, which URL are you entering? Is it the web address of the page the pic is on or are you right-clicking the photo and getting it from the properties menu?

Ahhh could be! If you right-click on the picture then click on 'properties' at the bottom of the menu. You will find the URL of the photo rather than the page. Copy that and put in the url box...
