Side Tiara Help - Little Flash!

cford09, 22 April, 2012 at 22:22 Posted on Planning 0 14

Hi girls,

When I tried on my dress in the shop, I was trying to figure out what I wanted on my head. I knew I didn't like traditional tiaras but the shop lady showed me a side tiara and I absolutely loved it! She had about 3 or 4 in the shop and I loved them all but they were about £90, which may sound reasonable to most people but it's just not cash that I have!

The main problem is that I can't find ANYTHING anywhere else that I like, regardless of price! My bridal shop only had one of each piece and this was well before christmas so it's more than likely that even if I could get the cash from somewhere, they would have been sold. Even a quick google images search brought up just one that I liked but it won't show me the website it is from.

Sooooooooooo what I'm wondering is if anyone has seen anything like this around anywhere?

Have you tried Glitzy secret? They often have ones coming up on ebay too if you keep checking. I was planning on a side tiara but I just got a glitsy secret pearl clip/comb instead from ebay for a bargain.

I have bought an old (as in vintage) brooch from an antique shop (£20) & the girl in shop where I am getting dress from is putting it on a headband for me for about £20. I wouldn't know how to do this myself but anyone that makes jewellery would probably know.

ebay is great though & maybe easier option.

I don't think you're tight as I think tiaras are expensive too.

How about Etsy, they have some lovely hair accessories. I'm probably going to get a vintagey hair comb from there for about £15.

    Hi cford09,

I have some tiaras and hair combs in my Vintage section on my site. I have created one off tiaras using vintage brooches as the focal piece. I love these because they are unique and I'm not sure if you could find the focal piece again. Here is a link to the Vintage section.
