Silly Question about Virgin Atlantic...

Kafi, 20 November, 2008 at 13:41 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 14

I'm due to be flying to New York on Saturday and I can't find my flight socks!!! Last time I flew Virgin (7 years ago!) I received some socks in a goody bag in Economy class.

Has anyone flown with them recently (in economy) and received some flight socks in their pack?

Many thanks,

Kat, x

We flew with them in September, and got a pair in our goody bag.

Have a good time in NY!

Aren't they just socks though, rather than flight socks?

You still get furry socks going out but not coming back. And like Lady F said they aren't flight socks - just lovely warm furry ones

I'm not. I get so hot and stuffy. I tend to change into shorts & a vest on most long haul flights, especailly night flights, they are the worst.

Totally agree. I had to take my socks off last night and had the fan blowing cold air in my face on our flight last night because it was so fecking hot. I bloody hate night flights.

I'm always the one with lots of clothes and at least 2 blankets, even on night flights.

    Thanks everyone,

I'm sure I got some blue flight socks with them last time - oh well, guess I'll have to hunt down my proper ones!

Lobster, I've got gloves, scarf and hat at the ready - has it snowed there today, that's what the weather reports been saying!

    Thanks again,

    K, x

No snow. I've seen a few flakes over the last week or so but nothing that even made it to the ground.

In the 4 years I've been here any real snow in the city has come in Jan or Feb.

I can categorically confirm that you did NOT get given proper flight socks at any point by Virgin.

As someone else said, you will get the towelling ones on the way out but nothing on the way back.

As for people talking about temperatures, do you ever tell the crew if you are hot or cold ? We can change the temperature, I'm always surprised that people sit their freezing / boiling and don't say anything until they are getting off.

When I worked in VAA CR, That was my response to our passengers, unless it was the passengers who said they asked the crew to open the window and they refused!
