Simple Cocktails Please!

ATB, 30 August, 2012 at 15:07 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 16

For a tea party I've got coming up I'm doing cocktails in tea pots and want to do a selection, but nothing complicated/has to be measured to carefully or has any unusual and expensive ingredients! I need to be able to re-fil as and when quite quickly (although i plan to have jugs pre mixed ready to top up tea pots) What would you like to drink out of a tea pot!

So far I have:

Sex on the Beach - Vodka, Peach Snapps and Orange Juice, Cranberry Juice
Cosmopolitain - Vodka, Quantro and Cranberry Juice
Blue Lagoon - Gin, Blue stuff (can't spell it!) Soda

I love French Martinis but don't think they'd work very well in the tea pot!

Gin, Rum, Tequila and Vodka - jeeze. I'd have to be shipping guests home in a wheelbarrow!

I've never had one, any ideas what needs to be in it as well as the coke, to simplfy it down without having all that booze!?!

Not full measures though. Otherwise no bar would serve it.

It's coke and lime in the mix, I think. Certainly, the sour taste is nice (and would mask any loss of strong alcohol taste).

Black current sourz, vodka and lemonade is nice

Raspberry Lynchburg - Chambord, Jack Daniels and lemonade

Apple Jack - Cointreau, Vodka, Apple Juice

Malibu and Cranberry works pretty well together or rum mixed with iced tea.

For non alcoholic cocktails you can always just do a virgin on the beach with orange and cranberry juice. Or make a sangria type drink with Shloer and chopped up bits of fruit.

My absolute favourite and very very simple to make! You can get a small bottle of chambord in most supermarkets for less than £10. It's usually 1 measure chambord, 1 of JD and top up with lemonade. If you're feeling fancy you can put raspberries in it too.

Slow, comfortable, screw?! - sloe gin, vodka and orange.

for the non-alchys you could give them sheldons favourite - virgin cuba libre - rum and coke without the rum ?

Mmmm another vote for long island iced tea. My wedding was sponsered by these! Many people dancing on the bar/tables. hee hee. They are lethal as they dont taste alcoholic!

Fruity rose(wine not the flower) iced tea is amazeballs

4 blackcurrant or strawberry teabags (or 2 of each)

    75g caster sugar

    1 pint merlot rose wine

    vodka (raspberry flavour is best)

    ice cubes

fresh mint, blueberries and raspberry's to garnish

brew the teabags and sugar in 500ml of boiling water leave to infuse for 5 mins before removing teabags and leaving tea to cool (can do it the day before and store in the fridge)

Mix a bottle of wine and the tea and a shot or 2 or 3 of vodka (depends how drunk you want to get)

Serve with ice and the garnish.

Can make with sparkling rose if you like bubbles too

ETA that will make about 6/7 half pint glasses (depends how much ice you put in)

James that sounds ace. Especially with bubbles. Where does the caster sugar come in?
