Happy Sunday back to you ?

Originally I was thinking proper meal and then a buffet in the evening, but when I asked for general price estimates from a local caterer, they emailed an 'afternoon tea' and hog roast menu. So now I'm considering a 2pm ceremony with afternoon tea, which the cake will be part of, then the hig roast and a BBQ in the evening.

This will give plenty of time in the morning to finish decorating the venue and our guests can all arrive at the onsite accommodation together and help with setting up. Just has a more relaxed, casual feel about it that a formal dinner, and we can all have brunch together in the morning to keep us going until the 'tea', which will fit in better with our ages (mid 40's!) lol. Will have to pay less in staff hire too ?. Plus it livens up the evening grub a little rather than the more usual buffet.

Being in the middle of the New Forest though, I just hope none of the wild boars gets wind we're roasting one of their mates lol

Self serve bbq of 6oz steak, minted lamb kebabs, lemon and black pepper chicken breasta and portobello mushroom burgers, a 5 ft seafood pealla dish, potato salad, mixed green salad, coleslaw, french bread and relishes and sauces for the wedding breakfast. Dessert of either fruitburst cheesecake or toffe apple and pecan pie.

Evening food - a hog roast for 100 people with apple sauce, stuffing and french bread and the wedding cake - carrot or chocolate portions.

I'm sold on the whole thing. Much more relaxed for my family and friends, and people get plenty of choice.

We are at our venue for the weekend so having a relaxed BBQ on the Friday, then on the saturday we are having a 3 course sit down meal. We've not decided what food we are having for the evening possibly bacon rolls or something.

    Hi :-)

    We are having sit-down.

Our starter is a sharing starter to hopefully get everyone talking, then it will be the standard sit down 2 course.

    Evening is hog roast.

I'd love to do a 6-course taster like Funky, but a lot of our guests have very limited palates.

We're having 3 courses plus cheese, with guests choosing beforehand from 3 options for each course.

We were going to have a buffet, but our caterer charged the same for the buffet or the sit down so we've gone for the latter.

Having paninis later in the night rather than a buffet as our wedding breakfast is at 5pm so I thought a full buffet wouldn't be eaten.

OOoh Funky I just dribbled a little. Six course tasting at the Dorchester! When are you having your tasting? Can we have detailed descriptions of the six courses when you and the boy have decided?

I'm not sure when we are having our tasting but that was one of the things on my list of questions I sent over to them on Friday.

I'll be sure to do a detailed report when we do, I'm going a bit groomzilla on this one because OH is very fussy (child like in fact as he wont try anything!!!) and I don't want bland/boring/everyday food on my wedding day, I might order chicken nuggets and chips for him at this rate! ha

We're having a three course meal around 6pm and then a 'natmad' (night snack) of a soup later on, which is Danish tradition. We're not having any additional evening guests so aren't providing a buffet.

Both. Everyone is coming Friday afternoon, so will have buffet or BBQ weather permitting. Then midday ceremony, followed by afternoon tea & champagne. 3 course sit-down in the evening.
