Slightly embarassed to ask but....

pinkpeonies, 25 November, 2010 at 11:20 Posted on Planning 0 9

I really need some help with some ideas for my hair for the wedding day. You would think this is actually quite easy but I have slightly sticky out ears and I dont want to look like 'Pob' the childrens character on my wedding day. ?

My hair is blondish...OK mousy and hopefully will be a good couple of inches below my shoulders by the time of my wedding. I always wear it down and quite straight eventhough if left to dry goes wavy. However it is pretty fine and so my ears have a tendancy to poke through.

Any ideas, pictures or thoughts would be appreciated.

My daughter has the same problem, she had her ears pinned back when she was 6 but one of them still pokes through her hair sometimes. When I got married she was bridesmaid & had her hair like this the one at the front of the pic:

The more wavy/curly it is the more itl be bigger and bouncy and cover your ears iof your paranoid? rather then leaving it straight?

Pob!!!! Wow, that brings back memories.

I think the hair in Sherrie's photo looks beautiful. Have a chat with your hairdresser and see if there's a way of putting a bit of volume in the hair so that it's 'bigger' and then the pesky ears will have to fight their way out, lol. Obviously I don't mean huge hair but if the hair is really flat and straight it might help.

I do of course mean this:
    rather than this:

I like those up-dos that fall over the ears. Have a hair trial with a few ideas. You could always use those "bump it" things to give your hair some height and volume

Any ideas greatly received. Can you tell me what a 'bump it' is? Haven't heard of it before.

I've never used them but have heard people talk about them. They're things you put under your hair to create more height/volume. Google it ?

My hair trial is now booked for next weekend for both me and the BMs, so if anyone has anymore ideas that would be great as I still seem to be lacking on ideas and am worried that it is next week.

Also can I ask another question, who is having their hair coloured or hightlighted for the wedding. I have started to think about this as well and am not to sure what to do? I know the hair dresser really needs to know next week so that we book things in the diary.

    Hi,

I'm planning on getting a few highlights put in my hair as my hair is so dark I want my hairstyle to show up in the pics! I'm thinking of timing it so I have it re-done just before the wedding, so I'll have time to get used to it beforehand iykwim. So I'll probably get it done for the first time around mid-April (wedding is in June).

    xxx
