Slightly OT Waxing

Starlight85, 31 May, 2011 at 18:17 Posted on Planning 0 5

I've never had a wax before, home attempts have never worked out well, but I wanted to get my legs, underarms and eyebrows done for the wedding. I've made an appointment for the 15th and the wedding is on the 18th. Can any waxing pros tell me if this is enough time to leave between waxing and the wedding? In case of any irritation or anything? Hope someone can help because I havn't got a clue. TIA

I'd leave it a couple more days than that and make sure you exfoliate well before you go!

For anything like this that you don't normally do, I'd suggest a trial a month or two before the wedding just to make sure you don't have a reaction to the procedure as it's easier to sort it out with a month to go than it is three days...

Personally, I think three days is perfect. Enough time for the redness to go down, but not so long that stray hairs are going to start trying to poke through.

Only thing I would say, if you're planning to fake tan, you'll need a few days extra beforehand again.

I have my eyebrows waxed once a month - I have never had a reaction (touch wood this will not change now) - I find that my eyebrows are only red for a few hours after - I suppose it depends on your skin aswell.

Leg wax I have had done once - I had no signs to show that they have been done.

If you are looking at having a spray tan you will need to your waxing completed a few days before the spray otherwise the solution will not "take"

I done my first ever waxing session 2 wks ago - underarms, bikini & half leg.

I had no reactions fortunately! I exfoliated & moisturised the night before & then showered before I went cause your not supposed to shower afterwards.

In your case I would maybe get it done about 4 days before - if you do get a reaction hopefully it would be calmed down b4 the big day!
