Slightly rude question re dresses and budgets

I think I've got a fairly healthy budget for my dress, although my mum thinks that I should be doubling it based on what her friends daughters paid ? I've not even started looking at dresses yet so may up or lower it depending on what I discover. So, if you don't mind me asking how much are you...

So, if you don't mind me asking how much are you paying for your dress as a % of your total budget? (take budget as including HM if you can as it makes the maths easier for me to work out mine!)

At the moment the dress ive fallen for is 695 but my total budget is 5k ish max 6.5k.

Depends what is important to you.

The dress ive seen made my mum cry and my grin like you wouldn’t believe.

We have to pay £700 ish for the church.

Im focusing on what makes me/ us happy.

Im not having a vintage car or a super flashy reception because the vows and the church are the most important bits for me.

I havent got the dress yet but im already depressed that I can only wear it once - its so sad to think it’s the only day you get to feel so special Smiley surprise(

I vow to wear it round the house.

Look in BHS too - I had issues with the length and like someone pointed out alterations can cost £200 + so that bargain dress for 250 may not be such a bargain

6%, but I have a tiny budget: c. £250 dress and overall budget of £4,300 (if we manage to reach our goal and resist making it bigger!). It is having to come out of our tiny house deposit money so we have to be a bit unusually small. But I think it can be happy anyway Smiley smile

"""Not sure if its frowned upon on here, but getting one made in China by a company called Millybridal. Its a copy of a designer one but with a few changes."""

Oh thats interesting! I've beent thinking of doing that but wasn't sure how reliable it would be or how well it would fit/quality. Have you got yours? if so whats it like and how does it work ordering it so they make exactly what you want?
