If I can't have what I want then I call it a diet. I think they call it a change of lifestyle, a long term change rather than a diet for a specific period of time? Does that make sense?

I am sure it works and am not saying otherwise, was just asking if it was a diet.

I wouldn't class it as a diet as you can eat EVERYTHING on it, Your learning how to completely change your lifestyle and how to retrain yourself in your eating habits.

I'm currently doing Slimming World and I would see it as a diet in that I am actively trying to lose weight. This requires a lifestyle change and especially if I want to keep the weight off it would mean a long term lifetsyle change, but it is still a diet.

I've just looked up the definition of diet and it states "A regulated selection of foods, as for medical reasons or cosmetic weight loss". I would say Slimming World fits that- even though alot of foods are "free" alot of foods are also "regulated" ie has "sin" values or restricted ("healthy extras").

Whatever you eat is a diet. You could live on "a diet of fast food".
