Slimming world when pregnant?

*Clairejk, 14 April, 2009 at 20:41 Posted on Beauty & Wellbeing 0 6

Any good?

Worth it?

How is it different to when not pregnant (apart from the obvious!)

Thanks

Claire 14+1 and piling on the pounds!!

I've been "prescribed" SW by my midwife (she had vouchers to give out) because my BMI was just above 30 at my booking appointment and I'm down for a homebirth. The group leader didn't say there was any difference for me, but I'm still not sure if I should be trying to lose weight or just maintain it IYSWIM.

I don't know about pregnancy, there is a leaflet, but I do know whilst BFing you get extra healthy extras, the number of which depends on age of baby etc etc...You definately need the leaflet, or you can read the info on their webpage.

As for "piling on" the weight, in a normal healthy pregnancy, you SHOULD be putting on weight, 2 stone on average.

Are you a member of their webpage? If so, if you log in, you need to look at the health fact sheets - I don't have access anymore as I've moved to WW so don't have the password, so I'm afraid I can't take a look for you!

You need to have joined SW to get onto the website I'm afraid. I looked for something about pregnancy earlier but couldn't find anything.
