Small wedding party problems, pls help!!

BeccaBoop, 8 March, 2010 at 13:22 Posted on Planning 0

Hi all,

I'm only very recently engaged so new to all this wedding planning lark, but wanted to get straight on as we are looking at 2011 for our big day so time is ticking.

We have done the guest list and come up with between 60-70 guests for the day time and a few more in the evening - I seem to be having problems finding venues which cater for this number - we are looking at south manchester/cheshire area.

They either do very small numbers....50-60 absolute maximum.....or really large numbers...100+. Many hotels have various suites, but I am concerned about going somewhere where there are two weddings at the same time - particularly with us being the smaller party. I am worried this would mean we would be drowned out by a large wedding...or treated as the inferior wedding.......has anyone had this problem?? has anyone got married somewhere where there was two weddings and they were the smaller one...and if so how did it go??

Thanks xx

    Hi

I am in South Cheshire and can recommend some places - we had our wedding at The Olde Vicarage Hotel in Holmes Chapel, we had 60 for the day and 140 for the evening. You get the restaurant, large bar area and the conservatory - so basically the whole place!! It has 31 rooms and a travelodge/premier inn isn't that far away for any extras.

There is also The Hunter's Lodge in Crewe - they have two rooms - Autumn Suite and Restaurant - both would be ideal for your numbers- and neither wedding sees the other.

You can go on the Cheshire East and Cheshire West council websites - they have lots of places to get married so you can get all the details for places to go and visit.

If you go onto my website you can see lots of places' rooms - hope it helps - if you start at http://www.theballoongallery.co.uk/Venues%201.htm and there is a next venue page button - hope it helps!!

    Heather
