small wedding reception venue in gravesend

Hello, I wonder if anyone can help me find a venue for a small reception? we are hoping to have aboout 30-40 for a sit down meal, the 40 more for a buffet in the evening, We ar getting married on a saturday in church but i am finding many venues say 80 minimum and are way too expensive, Anyone had any experience with receptions at a pub maybe? all help most welcomed!

Have you tried your local gastro pubs / restauarants?? I found them really helpful and they don't charge room hire etc...

Does the church have a church hall you could use, then source an outside caterer...

Thanks,I have got one in mind but i am bit worried it may be too small for dancing in the evening, I wish there were more reviews of places!

The only place I can think of for Gravesend way is perhaps The Ascot (or is it still called The Central) I dunno.. I know of a few people who have had parties there, and I may be wrong, but dont they have a hall as well?

Sorry, hang on. I dont know the name of the pub, but the one on Kent Rd I think, by the cricket club has a function hall.. Have def been to an engagement party there

I donr know Gravesend - but have you thought of medway> The Roffen Club has a fantastic suite you can hire and we only have 50 guests for sit down buffet then 100 in evennig max. very reasonable prices too .....
