Snoring... I'm so so tired.

sherry, 25 September, 2008 at 12:22 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 10

When my OH gets really really tired he snores. This normally only happens once a week (Saturdays - as he doesn't finish work until 4am) but just recently he has been trying to stay up with me until the early hours as I suffer terribly from sickness (31 weeks PG). He theh falls asleep and starts snoring. This means I can't sleep.

I've tried turning him on his side, asking him to have an extra pillow (so his head is higher).

He must have shut up at some point as the last I looked at the clock it was 330am and the next time was 445am so I did have over an hours sleep.

He took the girls to school and nursery this morning and I was able to go back to bed (off work at the moment).

This is fine but if I go back to work next week I will need to sleep.

SO snoring... any recommendations?

I'm not sure if it will help you but we've resorted to separate rooms on week nights. Apparently, I snore but I don't believe a word of it.

Separate accomodations are the only way forward. Sleeping next to Mr. Eleda is like sleeping next to a 2 stroke engined lawn mower.

Ooooh dear ?. Is that the only way to go? When we moved here we did buy a lovely corner sofa as one part of it turns into a sofa bed. Looks like it could be used then ?.

Separate beds seems the best option, unless of course you could send him to bed before you so he's not shattered and therefore doesn't snore, but this would mean you staying awake feeling sick and being ill on your own which wouldn't be ideal....

I hope you start getting more sleep soon, you need to make sure you're getting enough rest xx

There is a throat spray you can buy that stops snoring, well it stops Mr WTs for an hour or so, so that I can get to sleep when we are on hols. As you know, at home we have separate rooms as he sounds like the exhaust on a boy racers car lol

LOML sometimes snores. I find sleeping cuddled up to him is best as I can poke him or turn him over without really waking up myself.

My Dad is a horrific snorer, you could hear him down the street even with his bedroom windows shut. It was unbelievable. He now uses those nasal strip things and they are fantastic. I managed to sleep out in a tent last week with him sleeping nearby which is something that could never, ever have happened pre 'rumble-strip' days. Mum says they've saved her marriage - I'm not sure she was joking!

? all, I will look into spray and strips and see if any work. I'll look in boots later when im in town.

Otherwise i'll trying the kicking and prodding - or separate bed arrangements (although it's not all the time just when he is totally worn out).
