So how are you getting to the church/venue???

Suzie85, 29 March, 2011 at 13:37 Posted on Planning 0 7

I have had a couple of quotes for "posh" cars. Was originally going to use my uncles car but would still need a car for my mum and BM and thought it might be nice for me and Dad to have a treat!

The venue is around half an hours drive from home but we are having civil ceremony and reception in same place so I dont know if it seems a bit of a waste of money??? One quote was £250 and one was £400(!) but being in N Devon there are v few places about as they all have to travel to get to us and so stick the price up because of it!!!!

Would just like to hear what you lot think really!!

Cars have been a serious source of headaches for us!

Eventually we have settled on me having a traditional car - £300 to take me to church (2 miles, then 5 miles to reception with my new H!)

H2b is arriving in a sports car, and his best man will follow in a taxi

Bridesmaids - we were quoted over £200 for the 2 mile trip so we've paid a friend of my SIL £75 to jazz up his Audi Q7 (OHs dream car) to drive them, and they, with everyone else, will grab a taxi when we are done in church.

My step brother is driving me and my dad in my dads shiny new black civic, complete with all the wedding bows. I see no point in spending hundreds to get me down the road. Just my opinion! xx

Me too - I'll actually be arriving by myself on Friday (although I'll meet up with family when I get there). Gave my car a good clean at the weekend though so at least it'll be all nice and shiny!

Getting a rolls royce wraith - i knew I didnt want an old car that looked like it was falling apart but my dad wanted a vintage car sp we found this one which is well kept & a lovely silver so it ties in with my sparkly theme. My house is 5 mins from church & hotel is 30 mins from there so were not it in that long. He never actually gave me a price so last time I rung him I asked & he goes 'did we agree £300?' and i goes 'I think it was £250?' so thats what were getting it for lol. I sure he knew rightly he'd never quoted me but sure.
