So, my Gramps is totally innappropriate...

Pompey, 19 December, 2012 at 08:50 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 16

Just phoned the Grandparentals to check what the plan is for Xmas Eve and Gramps suddenly came out with:

'Not pregnant yet then?' GOD no. 'Have lots of fun practising though wont you'.

I could have died.

    ? got to love Grandparents!

My Nan once said, whilst eating a cocktail sausage, "I haven't seen one this small in a while!!!"

    ??

I've never had to experience anything like that. Thank God for grandparents who don't speak English!

Haha the worst I need to worry about from my gran is a bit of racism. Old people are the worst for that but it's not meant as racist. Probably un p c is a better term

I love how they just come out with it sometimes. Like their filter has just eroded away. My grandad, in his 90's often tells you you look fat if you've put on a few pounds. Mortifying when a teenager but I laugh now. Best bit is he looks like Santa clause himself!

I'm a grandparent. Does this mean I have permission to come out with anything I like and get away with it??

My mum had a drinks party at the weekend and I was talking to her golf party who got rather drunk throught he afternoon. We had been talking about how his daughter is the same age as me and got married around the same time and how he doesnt want to be a grandpa yet and how i shouldnt let mum presurise me in have having kids (not that id ever have kids just to shut her up!) anywho as he left, after a fair few glasses of red wine he said to my mum "let her have sex when and how she wants and actually you shouldnt even be thinking of her having sex!"

    ? my mum was mortified!

My grandad was completely inappropriate and was actually a bit of a Benny Hill type character. I'm sure in this day and age he would have had a complaint made against him! He was a pub landlord and had ladies' knickers hanging from the ceiling!

    Hahaha!

I love the things grandads come out with. H's Grandad has had a stroke and doesn't appear to have a 'filter' any more. He once asked H if he likes to pinch my bum, then told us he still pinches Grandma's.

My Indian grandad doesn't understand why it's not a good idea to tell his teenage granddaughters they've put on weight... to him it's a compliment, he's saying they look healthy.

My Nan was terrible for saying stuff she shouldn't. She had a kind of "Carry on" style humour, which always embarrassed H.

Like the time she asked my then bf (now H) if he minded her changing the TV channel over so she could watch the ballet. All perfectly innocent until she added "I love the fellas in those tights - just look at their bunches of grapes!" followed by "wowie, he's got someone elses share down there!" and did a grabbing gesture with her hand.

My friend was caring for an elderly lady who asked her what she was up to at the weekend. My friend said that she was off to a swap party, to which the old lady replied with a glint in her eye "oh yes my husband and I used to go to those" ?

My friend just said - erm - it's the kind where we swap unwanted clothes / goods etc!!!

    Gotta love the Olds.

I have been reliably informed, by my Gran, that Leamington Spa was a nice place until the darkies arrived. It was one of the few moments in my life where I have been speechless. I don't think she meant it to be racist, more of a generational thing I guess (she has just celebrated her 93rd birthday).

Boy's Nan rendered me speechless the other day - we were having tea at hers, and then announced to me and Boy that Boy's mum and her fiance have practically bought shares in Ann Summers. Now, I can get my head round that and wouldn't normally bat an eyelid, but they (Boy's family, especially Nan) are usually so prudish I nearly fell off my chair in shock.

The first time I met mrminis grandmother she told me one of her kids had been a mistake. It diddnt matter though, he had never really fitted into the family anyway.
