So who are the football fans and who do you support?

Hecate, 23 October, 2008 at 17:10 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 55

I support Bradford City (hometown) and Hull City (though H!) - I was going to Hull City though at Boothferry Park though so not a glory hunter - I was pretty much a failure hunter ?

Its a looooooot easier to support Hull now they are doing well and have the delectable Phil Brown as coach ?

I know there are a few Man United and QPR fans on here too

<whispers> Leeds Utd <whispers> but I haven't been to a game for at least 2 seasons now.

At least I definitely can't be accused of being a glory hunter.

I am a bit of a Hull fan - I went to Boothferry Park once and I've been to the KC several times, not this season of course though! I do get to go once through work, to the Aston Villa game so I'm looking forward to that.

Watford. It's MrH's fault - before him I didn't support anyone. Sadly he's landed me with a rubbish team ?

I don't support any team. I grew up with a Millwall supporting friends so went with the crowd. I then ended up hanging out with a few of the players in my late teenage years as a friend of mine was dating Steve Claridge.

My company has two awesome seats at Chelsea so I grab those tickets whenever I can and enjoy the day out. My brother supports Man City so I took him to the Chelsea Man City game and we bumped into David James after the match. He was a really nice guy and gave my brother his golie gloves, signed, from the match! ?

Reading. The team came as part and parcel with H. Seen the good, seen the not so good.

Oh Leeds is allowed. I feel sorry for them <soft touch>

Kit Phisto - oo take me to meet Phil - he's one of my 5 allowed ?

Hazel - could be worse - he could have saddled you with Rotherham or someone!

    Chicken - erm...Fulham? ?

KB3 - free seats would be a winner wherever really!

I'm a York City and Liverpool fan. I have always supported Liverpool, mainly to annoy my family of Man utd fans? but when H came along I started to go to watch York as that was the only way to see him, I have been going and have been a season ticket holder for 8 years now and the bad times definately outweigh the good !

We try to go and see one of the 2 teams each weekend, sadly its more York than Liverpool at the moment. Hopefully that will change next year again when we can afford it a bit more.

Sunderland, like the rest of my family. Don't get to see them play too often as it's such a long way away, but my Dad and I do try to get to at least one game a season.

Mr E is Tottenham fan, so we don't discuss football much at home at the moment ?

    Man United

Now, to pre-empt the taunts about which part of London I live in and I only started supporting them when David Beckham came along, I am a Manc born and bred, although I do live in Merseyside now (thanks MrD ?). I have supported them since about 1975 and have been with them through good times and some very bad times. To my eternal shame, I used to have pictures of Norman Whiteside and Bryan Robson on my walls, not Duran Duran or Wham ? I still go to as many matches as I can, the last being the victory over Middlesbrough in the Carling Cup.

Arsenal. Had no choice growing up in our house! My dad and grandad were season ticket holders and I went to my first game when I was 5 (couldn't see a thing and I cheered for the wrong team for most of it ?). My dad and brother still have season tickets though I haven't been for a few years. Pregnancy and babies have got in the way and I haven't been to the Emirates yet. Hmm, might try to convince my brother to give me his ticket for a game soon.

My H is Man Utd though I can't work out why. Born in Wales, grew up in Shropshire, went to Uni in Nottingham and then lived in London and now Surrey.

Much to his annoyance Olly is already showing an interest in Arsenal. Everytime he plays football he shouts 'Goal...Arsenal!'. I'd like him to make his own mind up as he may choose to support our local team though he is probably doomed for years of misery supporting Crystal Palace.

    West Ham house here

I go to the Emirates & White Hart lane games quite often too, as I have access to boxes there.

Sunday should be interesting MrJMP & BIL are taking the kids to West Ham - JMP is a WHU fan & BIL an Arsenal fan - the children have all stayed loyal to their Papa & support West Ham, much to BIL anger.

    Liverpool.

Yes, I live in Surrey, but I was born in the North West and I support them because my mum does and she supports them because she started following them when Emlyn Hughes moved there from Blackpool (our home town club)

I support The Arsenal. Arsenal til I die. I go to home and away matchs as often as I can. haven't been for a few weeks now last time was at E wood park when we trashed the rovers 4 nil.

I'm gutted beyond belief I can't get to the Emirates on Wednesday. Can't wait to watch it though. We should hopefully keep the yids where they belong...with 2 points and bottom of the league lol ( Sorry hitcher yiddos but like I said Arsenal til I die)

Oooh to, oooh to be, oooh to be a Gooner.

I'm a Pars fan (Dunfermline) for my sins. Dad's from there, so it's a family thing, and now I'm living near both Dens and Tannadice I'm v much the odd one out! But I have high hopes for heading back up to the premier division this year (always hopeful!)

I'm an Arsenal fan (my username is a bit of a giveaway!) I've supported them for 30 years. My H is a Palace fan, as is my son. My daughter aged 7 says she's a Millwall fan, but only to wind her dad up!

    Liverpool.

Supported them since 89, when I was 6. Remember wanting the red team to win, and turns out it was Hillsborough. I supported them ever since. Remember Michael Thomas scoring against Sunderland in 92 in the FA Cup final.

Saw them play against Southampton at St Mary`s, winning 0-1 Heskey, near post header, and me in the away end trying not to cheer...

Was in Liverpool on 26th May 2005 to see the European Cup come home for keeps.

I'm a life long suffering Sheffield Wednesday fan! That's my grandad's fault as he was one and got me into football. My mum is a Sheff Utd fan so that's always interesting.

My husband supports Liverpool so I always look out for them and I have a bit of a soft spot for Wigan as they are my H's local team and we've taken his young cousins to matches there a few times.

    Liverpool here too

since I was at junior school, cant remember how I got into it as my dad hates football

I remember following John Barnes round our local Sainsburys and Jan Molby lived across the road from my junior school (maybe that was why)

I sort of follow Birmingham too as there is a family connection in the back room staff
