Some of my favorite things & some tips post wedding!

SunnyPurpleDiamonds850, 1 August, 2017 at 14:53 Posted on Just Married 0 4

Hey all. I've been coming here and reading posts for the past year or so planning my wedding. It has been super helpful getting ideas, seeing what other brides are experiencing, and what not. I got married a few weeks ago and wanted to join (I feel so special, hehe) and tell about some of my favorite things from my wedding in hopes it helps you make yours extra special or gives you some other ideas that you may not have thought of like you all did for me.

First was having comfy shoes to change out of and dance. I know there was quite the number of convos around this and it was totally worth it. After standing the entire day at pictures and the ceremony, dancing in some comfy shoes were so amazing and helped me keep the party going! I honestly just bought some cheapish flats that looked fancy from Nordstrom Rack.

Next was one of my favorite parts of the day. My hubby, Jose, sent me a note on the morning of our wedding that made me cry but what came next I definitely wasn't expecting. At the bottom of the note was a link written in. I typed the link on my phone and he had a song written for me about how we met, when he proposed and was absolutely beautiful. I was hoping not to cry much on my wedding day but this didn't help that, lol. The company that made the song is called Songfinch and it was incredible. (our song: songfinch.com/stories/my-wife-our-wedding-day)

Next was our table numbers. I've been to numerous weddings where the table names are not in alphabetical order and it causes a traffic jam at the table. To prevent this, make sure your guests names if you are using them to designate tables are in alphabetical order so people can quickly find their name.

Lastly, a wedding planner. Michelle was our wedding planner and it made the day fly by smooth and easy. I didn't really have to worry about logistics and I got to be a bride at my wedding. It was the best money that we spent and I would highly recommend getting a wedding planner for a few weeks out - it's cheaper than a full wedding planner and so worth it!

I hope some of these tips help make your day more special. Being married is amazing and I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with Jose!!!!!! Smiley smile

First of all - Congratulations to you and Jose! Hope you have a happy marriage, following what sounds like an amazingly well organised day!

Following the honeymoon, or however you intend to spend your first few weeks in married life, do you have any plans to undertake new hobbies together? I am currently being convinced to think about new ideas on trying new things to do as a couple once we are finally married, and I was wondering if you and Jose had previously thought about this?

Interested to hear other opinions on this!
