Something Borrowed - what are you having?

zoe@hitched, 20 May, 2016 at 09:16 Posted on Planning 0 18

Hi everyone,

I'm writing a feature for hitched on 'something borrowed' ideas and inspiration. I'd love to know what you're having (or had) at your wedding!

I'll quote you in the article and if you'd like your first name to be used rather than your forum username, please include that in the post.

Looking forward to hearing what you're all planning!

I'm borrowing my mum's petticoat Smiley smile

It's in pristine condition from her Wedding to my Step Dad 15 years ago, and it really suits the shape of my dress Smiley smile

I'm borrowing my great grandmother's wedding band. It's being sown into the lining of my dress. She died when I was 10 so it feels like a good way to include her.

I'm borrowing a tiny silver horseshoe that my Mum had on top of her wedding cake - I am planning to tie in with silk around the stem of my bouquet.

It is such a lovely thought to know that I will be carrying a little piece from their wedding and 35 years of happy marriage down the aisle with me and an added bonus that I love horses Smiley smile

I borrowed a lovely cream pashmina off my MIL for the evening. It was trimmed with cream fur balls which looked like snowballs so worked well with my snowy winter wedding.

I'll be having my grandma's pearl drop earrings as my something borrowed.

We are getting married on what would have been her and my grandad's 50th wedding anniversary and when she heard I was going to buy some pearl drop earrings, she offered for me to borrow the ones my grandad had given her on their pearl wedding anniversary Smiley smile

I borrowed my friend's pearls. I was going to buy my own but she told me not to be ridiculous and did me a loan.

Sorry Zoe I never got one. Hardly wore it and braved the photos in just my dress in the snow.
