Something old, new, borrowed, blue... Flash!

Houdini, 5 June, 2009 at 09:49 Posted on Planning 0 13

What are people having as their something borrowed? Am stuck on this one!

Old: Jewellery which my sister bought for me when I was her chief bridesmaid. (It's too gorgeous to only wear once)

New: Dress

Blue:

Any ideas? I sense an old, new, borrowed, blue flash coming on!! Come on - you know you want to!! ?

Not sure about my old and borrowed, but <cheating> new will be my dress, and blue will be this that I bought from a hitcher!

Similar to this but with the word LOVE instead of the clear crystals...I'll have to decide where to attach it though...don't fancy having a garter.

I may pass it on to other hitchers for their something borrowed as well as blue after september. There was a 'Hitched sixpence' once that did the rounds for years, not sure where that went but it was great to think that so many hitcher had use it on their special day!

That's a good idea Tahdah! If only I'd have posted this a few days ago I could have lined that up as my borrowed and blue!

Like the idea of borrowing something off a family member, will have to see what they've got!

for my something old/borrowed/blue, i am having my grandads ring (he sadly passed away in 2004) tied with blue ribbon around my ankle so he can 'walk down the aisle' with me x

My old and borrowed is my friends tiara from her wedding 2 years ago.

Old could also be the bracelet that h2b bought me. I wear it everyday and will do on our wedding day.

New is my dress, underwear and shoes.

Blue is blue rhinestone "I do" for the soles of my shoes.

    Wooohoooo nearly there!!!!

Omg I haven't even thought about this yet!

I guess the "new" is pretty easy with the dress, shoes, etc.

I might have trouble with the "blue" but if the worst comes to the worse I'll paint a toe nail blue or something! Or maybe buy a bottle of perfume which comes in a blue bottle - would that count? lol.

"Borrowed" and "old" are going to be diffucult for me I think...

I am having the following bits:

    New: Dress, Shoes underwear etc

Borrowed: Veil from my friend who married nearly 11 years ago so something old with it.

Old: My nan's engagement ring which my mum wears. she would have made my wedding cake and really got involved. She passed away 10 years ago, but I know she will be there stood next to us. I will have to give it back so it is my something borrowed to.

    Blue: garter but sure yet

    Need a sixpence though

My new will be my dress, veil, lovely pink shoes!

Old will be my OH's nan's engagement ring, I'm going to sew it in the lining of my dress somewhere

Blue, my sis suggested blue toenails but they won't go with the lovely pink shoes so think I'll sew a piece of blue ribbon into the lining too

Borrowed - not sure yet, am hoping my sis or SIL can find their sixpences so I can have one of theirs...if not the OHs nan's ring will double up as borrowed.... is that cheating? Can one item cover off two elements??? Am I taking this too seriously???

New is easy - almost everything.

Old, blue and borrowed is my Mum's garter from her wedding 39 years ago.

I have 3 sixpences now... I had one that was in our Christmas pudding a few years ago, FMIL gave me one last weekend at my hen, and then a cousin of OH sent me one this week in the post... is it wrong to have all 3?!
