Sometimes it's a pile of ? **Update in first post**

AuntieBJ, 2 March, 2015 at 12:07 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 19

My son's best friend has just had an operation to remove a brain tumour. She will have to have at least two more ops. She's 9.

Please send her some vibes folks ?

The good news is that both the first and second operations went well and the brave little lady was up and about in no time. She came home on Saturday with the reality being months of chemo and possibly radiotherapy ahead of her. Today she went for her first appointment at The Royal Marsden and her parents had a meeting with her care team.

This has resulted in a real shock for the family. She needs treatment in the States and will be heading there in six weeks time for a nine week stay. Her treatment is funded but sadly, her dad and little brother will need to make their own way over there and the whole family will have to live without any income for the entire time.

As a result, we are setting up a fundraising page for them and I'm hoping that if I share the link here, my lovely otters might help by sharing it further via facebook, twitter or whatever media you use. I know it's cheeky to ask for your help, but this family have really had a raw deal having lost 3 members of their family to cancer already, all within the last few years.

The donation page is here:

Please help if you can x

You know I've been sat here feeling sorry for myself all morning and saw this title and got ready to join in the rant ... but you kind of just put it all in to perspective for me. Poor little love. Sending love to her and her family. And a little squeeze for your boy, too. So sad that she has to go through this when she's still so little. Hoping it all works out for the best x

Poor little thing, how awful to go through that so young. I hope she makes a speedy recovery. Lots and lots of vibes heading her way.

Ah, so cruel. Poor little thing. Hope all goes smoothly.

Have you heard of the PostPals charity? Her parents could sign her up so she could receive some nice messages/cards/gifts from well wishers.

Thank you both so much. She's a very special girl. When she and her mum were told the news, mum broke down as did Kelly. Then she pulled herself together and told her mum not to worry, that they would see it through together as a family - she breaks my heart, she truly does!
