Right!

My friend is doing a reading in a church and would like to read a song that is alot about love!

We dont want it to cheesy but also it has to be meaningful to the bride and groom

a few suggestions so far have been

Heatwave 'Always and Forever'

Fat Larrys Band 'Zoom'

any suggestions would be really appreciated!

Thank you

Reading the lyrics is a great idea and thinking of the words to those songs myself I don't know why people haven't done it before (that I have seen) in a civil ceremony.
Buuuuuuuuut I cant think that I have seen any reading done in a church that didn't have in someway a religious theme. I don't think its any rule as such and it is mostly down to the vicar/reverend, who may well be up for it, but I would think that they would be steering the reading towards a religious based theme text.I would first make sure that the Rev is ok with the idea. And if not, what about taking sections of words from hymns to put together as a reading.

It depends on the type of church. one secular and one bible reading is common at the weddings i've been to (baptist) but yes, checking with the minister first would be a good idea.
