Soooooo - Umbrella's

Bowski, 13 October, 2011 at 11:49 Posted on Planning 0 23

Well the ten day forecast is looking like there is a chance of rain for our wedding day so do I bite the bullet and invest in a couple of umbrellas?

Do I work with the idea that if I buy them it might not rain because I've spent money on them?

    absolutely!

if i bring an umbrella with me it NEVER rains, the one time i forget the bloody heavens open! I'd probably get a nice umbrella that will still look lovely with your dress. one of my friends got married november last year and she had to go and buy a pair of wellies because there was 3.5 inches of snow. it looked ever so romantic until she had to like.. walk in it, but her pictures are lovely lol

Buy an umbrella and ill wish you a dry and sunny day Smiley laugh

I bought three, even for the end of August, as I am in Manchester. It didn't rain. That's saying something.

I've seen a clear one with white edging which would be perfect but part of me wants to buy a big black one with twinkly light in it because I love twinkly light and I might us it in the future as I'm not really a brolly girl.

I'd definitely get some, better safe than sorry. Before you fork out for them though, just check with your venue in case they have any. Our venue has accumulated loads of things over the years which they are happy for to use which include a number of wedding umbrellas.

I'm the same Bowski.....not sure what to do! Same here re the rain but I'm thinking I have a short walk from front door to car and then I can dropped right outside the venue and short exit in. Plus the nice one's aren't cheap! Not like I'm paying £5 each.....the one's I like are £20 each, with 9 days to go the budget isn't allowing such luxuries!

It is also worth checking with your photographer - ours has 2 large white golfing umbrellas which we will use if needs be!

I want nice purple ones.hehe!! I'm on ebay now! I may just go with the big blue and white golf umbrella we have! Might look more amusing with lots of random umbrellas! Plus thinking about it I'm getting married at a golf club! They must have umbrellas!

As Alochin88 said, check with your photographer. Most of the photographers we've spoken to have mentioned that they always bring umbrellas with them just in case. Of course they might not be pretty ones that match your dress / colour scheme etc!

You were in a parallel universe. It always rains in Manchester.

Would you just worry about yourself or would you get umbrella's for the Bridesmaids? I've seen an ivory one and thinking I'll just get myself one and the bridesmaids can use random ones or is that being mean!?

I will only have to cross the pavement and a small courtyard if it rains, there is inside space for photos if needed. But I have appointed brolly-men and will provide them with brollies on the principle that if I am prepared for rain it will not rain.

I'm the 22nd too and I have 2 umbrellas, a baby pink and an ivory one. Edwardian style. Hopefully because I'm prepared the rain won't appear!
