    Oh what are they like?!

My OH got paid more than expected today and first thing he said was 'lets get a new TV with it'. Umm no, lets put it towards the wedding which is happening in 3 months time...

Mine keeps going into places like Currys and fingering new laptops. But he just lost his regular DJing job (the night shut down, he wasn't sacked!) so now he really has no excuse for buying one. It won't surprise me a bit if he still does, though.

Golf - honestly, how many golf clubs can one man own? Not mention, bags, shoes, towels and the cost of actually using them to play a round!!! We both gave up smoking and we're saving about £100 a month each - all of mine goes in the wedding pot and pays off the credit card bill each month. His? Mostly on more golf!!!!

Bless 'em - but we love 'em nonetheless lol.

My OH's weakness is flippin' football and his bikes, pedal and motor variety. He'd like a new road bike but knows it's not happening anytime soon. To be fair, a lot of his expense is wear and tear as he does so many miles, but it still wrankles lol.

Yup, it's the car for us! OH bought himself (well, we bought him) an old american muscle car last year, it's been covered up through winter, and now it's getting warmer he wants to get it to a garage to be fixed and MOTd so he can get it on the road. I have to be the bad guy and tell him we can't do it yet, we're currently going through buying a house (fingers crossed it all goes through!) and we need to concentrate on that - I don't want to have a car that's fixed, but not have any money to buy paint or a fridge freezer!!!!

Mine just bought a new laptop for £300 at the weekend. He's due to lose his job at the end of June. He's been made redundant so yes he'll get a nice settlement at the end but surely best to wait til he actually has a new job before buying it? Mine is only a year old and works perfectly. He's always been able to use it if he wants. I think he just wanted a new toy!

H and I are both quite bad at spending when we should be saving. The difference is I am happy with a purchase from everything5pounds.com but my H always spends on big purchases like new gadgets and expensive kitchenware. It does annoy me because my salary is measly compared to his but it is me who does all the saving.

My H is useless at saving money, but excellent at spending it.

Whatever he spends on himself, he gives me to "treat myself" with, so I can't grumble too much.

He is into fly fishing, and has recently taken an interest in photography. two, nice expensive hobbies...

Mine works in the games industry, so he usually tries to fob me off calling it 'research'! What he seems to forget is that I also work in games and manage not to buy every new game out haha.

Why are they so crap at it? Mine is moto bikes, I need new brake pads the ones on are fine but I don't want them getting too worn. Now I'm all for safety but 500 miles on them since he put the last ones on. Oh and why did he have to take a week off work when I go in my hen so he can "play out all week"

Ah, now mine is the complete opposite. He logs every miniscule expenditure on a spreadsheet and encourages me to do the same. He won't even go out for lunch with work colleagues without checking first if I mind him spending the money! For the most part, I appreciate how careful he is and it does stop us running out of money partway through the month, but sometimes I'd just like to go to bloody Tesco without him murmuring about budgets and adding things up as we go round!

My husband goes from one extreme to the other- but when he wants something he tends to want it there and then so dips in to savings to buy it rather than wait to save the extra. it doesn't really matter I guess as the money does get put back in.

Oh and I are the opposite to this. I'm terrible at spending money when we need to save it (something the wedding has made me realize even more!) But oh hardly spends any money, on anything. He's not in to gadgets at all and I had to petition him for 2mths just to get a new tv when our old one had a black line through! The only thing he's really bothered about spending money on is holidays, I must drive him mad!

    I feel your pain!

before Christmas I thought it would be a great idea to redecorate our whole downstairs and my nan lent us £300 so I could do so, she's a star. I said I'd pay her back after our wedding and she was happy with that.

While I was busy decorating (oh is useless at it so won't even let him try and it would be too costly to fix, been there learnt my lesson) he decided I needed a new phone as I lost my Pay as you go iPhone. He got me a new contract and it come with the brand spanking new iPhone, I was really happy and felt like he really thought about me as he new I missed my iPhone. It arrived in the post and he told me I could only have the contract sim to put in an old crappy phone and he was selling the iPhone for an Xbox 1! I was so upset! There I was fixing the home for our family and he's buying himself a new Xbox and in all honesty if I wanted to sell the phone I would of paid my nan back. Everyone who knows is really shocked at him.

Come Christmas Day it was out turn to host Christmas so infront of all my family I give him all his gifts and he just hands me the sim pack with the contract sim! Yes I even had to wait for that! So he spent £500 on himself and I got a sim!

FMIL's partner really felt for me and upgraded his phone so I could have his iPhone that was brad new as he smashed his and bought a new one 2 weeks before he upgraded.

Dont get me wrong, I love him beyond words but I think men just don't think sometimes!

Are you and I marrying the same person?!! This is my OH to the T. I had to force him to buy a new tv. He isn't into gadgets at all. I have to sift through his clothes to throw out things as 'they are perfectly wearable' when they have massive holes in them. Extra air vents apparently. I threw out a pair of boxer shorts that had completely worn through *underneath* so they were now a boxer skirt. Apparently he didn't chuck them as he's only had them five years........

Which is a good job as I spend for both of us!!! ?
