SOS in France

SOSfrance, 22 January, 2009 at 12:29 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 90

I am living in France with my 4 daughters going through a horrific divorce. We have suffered violence, mental abuse and now threatened with our home being repossessed ! My British husband still living in France was ordered to pay the mortgage and maintainance but has not paid either of them for 16 months now.Our situation is desparate, I am struggling to generate the income needed on my own to provide for my daughters. In the Uk I worked successfully as a financial consultant however having to remain here for the time being, due to the language barrier and on my own with 4 children it is difficult for me to work in the same capacity.

As my husband has not paid the mortgage for 16 months or provided any support for the children we are having our home repossessed. As a last resort I have come up with an idea that may possibly help to save our home. I have created a Blog and am looking for your help to improve it and advice on how best I can market it. Please have a look and if you have some words of wisdom I greatly will appreciate and look forward to hearing from you. http://web.me.com/sharonmckenna

My name is Mr.Moses Odiaka.I work in the credit and accounts department of
Union Bank of NigeriaPlc,Lagos, Nigeria. I write you in respect of a
foreign customer with a Domicilliary account. His name is Engineer Manfred
Becker. He was among those who died in a plane crash here in Nigeria
during the reign of late General Sani Abacha.

Since the demise of this our customer, Engineer Manfred Becker, who was an
oil merchant/contractor, I have kept a close watch of the deposit records
and accounts and since then nobody has come to claim the money in this a/c
as next of kin to the late Engineer. He had only $18.5mllion in his a/c
and the a/c is coded. It is only an insider that could produce the code or
password of the deposit particulars. As it stands now, there is nobody in
that position to produce the needed information other than my very self
considering my position in the bank.

Based on the reason that nobody has come forward to claim the deposit as
next of kin, I hereby ask for your co operation in using your name as the
next of kin to the deceased to send these funds out to a foreign offshore
bank a/c for mutual sharing between myself and you. At this point I am the
only one with the information because I have removed the deposit file from
the safe.By so doing, what is required is to send an aplication laying
claims of the deposit on your name as next of kin to the late Engineer. I
will need your full name and address telephone/fax number, company or
residential, also your bank name and account, where the money will be
    transfer into.

Finally i want you to understand that the request for a foreigner as the
next of kin is occassioned by the fact that the customer was a foreigner
and for that reason alone a local cannot represent as next of kin. When
you contact me, then we shall discuss on how the money will be split
between us and others we shall also speak in details.I am currently in
europe for a six months course, you can reach me on this number for further
discussion **** 723.Kindly send your reply to my private email
address stated below **********@*******.*** or ************@*****.***

    Trusting to hear from you,

    I remain Respectfully yours,

    Mr Moses Odiaka.
    **********@*******.*** or ************@*****.***

    This was my latest one.......
    Attn: Wright ,

I am Onye Nkou, personal attorney to Late Mr. Joseph Wright (my client) , from your country who was a gold merchant here in Republic of Benin, West Africa. On the 23rd of December 2003, My client lost his life as a result of lung cancer, as confirmed by a medical specialist who was taking care of his illness for over three month before his death.

I have contacted you so that you can help to repatriate some (money) left behind by my client before they get confiscated or declared unserviceable by the Central Apex Bank here in Republic of Benin. These money were lodged with a local bank here, where My client had an account valued about $17.5 million dollars (Seventeen Million Five Hundred Thousand United States Dollars).
Now, i seek your consent to present you to the bank so that the proceed of my client's fund valued about $17.5 million can be paid to your account as his family member. Reply after reading this message, so that i will tell you how we can legally proceed the claim.
    Thanks and regard,
    Onye Nkou

OK, then you need to be far more explicit on your "blog" as to what your goal is.

If it is just a blog, then there is no need to include details of your financial scheme.

If it is a financial advertisement (not permitted under hitched rules), then drop the personal story / kiddie photos and write something meaningful in the FAQ.

Can I ask why you chose hitched to assist you in this endeavour ?

Advice on what though? That link goes directly to blurb about fractional investment. Wouldn't you be better off on a financial advice forum if you want advice on that? Or did you perhaps think that by linking to that, some of us would go "oh, that poor woman and wow that seems like a great opportunity and such a simple and fantastic idea, here's my £10k"?

Why do you have to stay in France ? I agree - think you'd be better coming back to the UK.

    I'm also loving this bit:

"Legal papers will be written. You get your original investment back along with a 50% of the profit made and a rental income......surely going to be more than the Banks are offering . No risk and low investment."

So that's all right then ?

It seems obvious from some responses that there are those that think this is a scam. Sadly not. I Choose hitched as as friend suggested it. I am looking for advice on how to put this together. Yes it is an investment... i am not looking for charity, in the 1st instance some advice . I believe this is a good idea as an investment and the only way out of trying to save our home by NOT ACCEPTING CHARITY but offering up our home as an investment. What I am hoping for here is some positive ideas on how to market this before and how I may need to change it so people don't perceive it as a scam and realise it is a genuine investment opportunity which has been created out of my sheer desperation

Returning to the UK is not an option if you want to understand more why please refer to the site REUNITE.co.uk. There are women all over the world who are stuck in oountries with their children unable to return home due to the legislation of different countries and the Hague Convention.

Sweet. I knew it would only be a matter of time before our financial advice and web-design skills caught the attention of a wider audience.

So, is this friend of yours a regular ? I'm sure she'd be happy to vouch for you.

I'm desperate too. Spare us a fiver? I'll let you borrrow the Louboutins on the third Thursday of every month with a Y in it, so it's a good investment.

I suggest you market your idea by asking randoms for money on internet forums. HTH.

    So you want advice eh?

How about asking direct questions and spelling out exactly what you plan to do and how, and not sending people off to other websites when someone makes a suggestion?

What makes you think people who want to invest would care in your personal circumstances? I appreciate that it matters to you, but frankly it doesn't sound like a great way for me to spend my money.

    Thanks.

Oh, Lorraine from Leeds - fine - now you can have my cash ?

I'm sorry - I think it is CRASS to pitch something like this on a web forum like this. You come across as a complete whacko I'm afraid.

Just as a previous poster has said - if its such a good idea why not market it properly.

There are many people on this forum have terrible financial problems and would be too humble to try something like this.
