Hi All!

I wonder if any of you can help...

Me and H have just booked a last minute holiday to South Africa - Kruger National Park and KwaZulu Natal.

Has anyone been? Have you any tips/Advice and has anyone driven in SA - We'll be driving from Jo'Burg to KZN and I'm SCARED about that bit

Its a great place, Check the temperature for kruger as you may need to take a coat as it can get very cold in the morning as you will be out on safari between 5 and 6 am (time of year dependant) - you dont need winter cloths as the temperature can raise quickly.

You may also need malaria tablets, time of year is also dependant for this.

Driving is fine, You just have to get use to the rule, first to a junction goes so in places you want to drive a little aggressively now and again. I would recommend a sat nav as you do not want to end up somewhere you are not ment to be. speed cameras are also painted to make them blend in with its surroundings. appart from that is was easy youll have a great time. make sure your camera works and that you have a few large memory cards.

    Thanks Greenleaf, thats great.

I think we hear all those scary stories of Jo burg but we only have to drive out of it and then back to the airport on our return.

We're getting the malaria tabs sorted this week along with jabs.

I'll have to put my aggressive hat on for the driving... it'll mask the fear anyway ?

    thanks again!

Just to remember first to the junction goes first, I drove around capetown and along the coast and didnt find it to bad, Sat nav was very very helpful which you can rent.

    Got it...

I've read a couple of recommendations to get sat nav so will be emailing the rental company in the next day or so once all plans are confirmed so that they will have one for us. I've studied the route from Jo Burg to Kwazulu Natal so we should be ok. Smiley smile

Thanks muchly for the info and advice ?
