South Wales Florists

hannahgosney, 13 November, 2013 at 14:36 Posted on Planning 0 9

Hiya,

I'm really struggling to find a florist in South Wales that can incorporate what I want for my wedding flowers. I've had a few consulations but don't really feel that confident with any of them. Can anyone suggest any good florists that it would be worth me contacting?

    Who have you already contacted?

We're having Rolfe's Florist (based in Splott). Theirs was the best price by far, although our flowers are going to be quite simple so depends what you're after!

We've spoken to Flowers with a Twist and the Flower Pot in Pontyclun. I've got an appointment booked with Amanda French Flowers tonight and Sian's Flowers on the 7th December.

I'm sure the ones I've spoken to so far would be fine but we are getting quite a lot of flowers - big centerpieces etc.

Rolfe's was one that was recommended to me, but I like to see lots of photos before I book consulations to know if they are any good in the first place :-s

I'm based in Cardiff Bay but I'm willing to travel, especially if it keeps the costs down overall. I'm getting married in New House Hotel so it's close to most places around Cardiff

I'm based in Cardiff Bay too!

We were a bit different as we (well I, my h2b doesn't really care about flowers...!) knew what we wanted straight away so it was just a case of getting quotes. Rolfe's didn't actually have a picture of what we want to show us, but they did have loads of other pics to look through.

I think that's what I'm struggling with - there isn't a picture of exactly what I want as every bouquet etc is different. Other photos to look through are still very helpful though. The place I've been so far haven't given me any :-s

    Hi there,

I would use the pictures that the florist shows you(of their previous work) as a judgement of how good they are and the styles that they can provide.

Before your appointments, why not go onto google and type in the sorts of things you are after- eg pink vintage wedding flowers, and gather a moodboard of ideas that you love. A good florist will then help you pull together what you are after with bits and pieces from different bouquets. Most of the time you just have to trust that the florist is on your wavelength unless you want to pay for a mock up.......?

Flowers by Becca Jane is brilliant she is based in Brecon so only an hour from Cardiff. She is on Facebook so you could have a browse at some of her work. She's done many of my friends weddings and is very well priced Smiley smile x
