Yes same here, we went to see him last monday to look at the cars then booked with him today £250 for his Daimler

He charged me £275 ggrrr ha. I am terrible at haggling though. I should have took Oh with me he wont leave without a good deal! When is your wedding ?

No you just turn up. They're really good especially if you are just starting out planning, you get lots of ideas and prices. Where abouts in South Yorkshire are you?

It depends which ones you go to though. If you go to the big organised wedding fayres, normally at big venues such as Ice sheffield then you have to pay, normally brides go free and grooms or the other person pays - between 5 Aand 8 pounds normally and brides only go free if someone is paying.

If it is at a local venue, such as a hotel, they are free as often they are trying to sell you their venue, but you can just turn up and have a look, you dont have to be looking at the venue. Now is a good time, most are held between now and April, then again in oct/Nov for the next season so it would seem, though they do go on all year round.

I am subscribed to 'I do' magazine and they send me emails with details of wedding fayres each week in the local area

I'm Rotherham too!! Getting married in Rotherham and reception at brooklands Barnsley (Holiday Inn)

We liked the Brooklands when we looked round, certainly impressive. I liked the secret gardern. My OH works for Holiday inn though, so we didn't want to book a HI, because although he would get discount, he said he would feel like he was at work!

We are in Barnsley and getting married at out local church and then onto Wortley Hall, can't wait!!

I viewed Wortley Hall as well. I almost booked Aston Hall then decided on Brooklands. Which Holiday Inn does your oh work at? When do you get married

He works at the Royal victoria in Sheffield. Thats a nice hotel but again, he didnt fancy getting married their either.

We dont get married until 2nd Aug 2013...bit of a wait yet lol

Its lovely there! Barnsley was easier for us because OH's family is all coming from Manchester so easy to get straight off woodhead. I get married august this year.

Aw yes that is easier....ours are coming from all over lol. We initially looked at Nostell Priory until they told us they wanted 9k just for the wedding breakfast!

Wortley was handy because of the accomodation with it as many of our family will need to stay

Honestly I know everyones say it but it really does fly round! When we booked ours we had nearly a year and a half to go. I am now booking hen night! I am pretty much all sorted just waiting for my dress to arrive x

I too am a South Yorkshire bride, we live in sheffield but we are getting married at Waterton Park in Wakefield.

When we booked our wedding it was 22 months away and now its only 6 weeks and 3 days!! Argh the panic/ excitment is scary!!

Another south yorkshire bride! We get wed on 18th August this year at a church in Darfield then onto Whitley Hall for the wedding breakfast and reception...26 weeks eeeek! x

Me too, I am another Sheffield bride born and bred, Though I am living on the sheffield/Rotherham/Barnsley boarder at the moment. Having the whole day at Whitley Hall on the 16th August 2013. There is quite a few of us about on here then.
