Spa day for 2 recomendations?

I love shoes, 18 November, 2008 at 19:47 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 5

Ive been trying to think of something for my mum for christmas / birthday (its her birthday on thursday, but she knows Im going to get her something joint this year)

She has had a bit of a weird year so far and Id like to do something special for her

She has lost 7 stone (so far and might still lose more before christmas) and I was thinking of a spa day for the pair of us to sort of celebrate that and to help her feel even more fantastic about herself (more than she already does with the weight loss)

Ive been looking on lastminute.com and there are a few options on there but wondered if any of you lovely ladies (or gents if you are in a pampering mood) had any personal reccs

Ideally no more than £200 for the pair of us

Preferably somewhere south, would rather not travel more than an hour or two from the Gatwick area

Would like it to include a couple of treatments each (or more if poss)

Not bothered about food or overnight accommodation unless it fits in with the budget

The one Ive seen on lastminute.com is this one and unless anyone else can come up with some thing better / cheaper then Im going to go for that one

Thanks all 🥳

Nirvana Spa near REading is FAB! I've been to a few spas and Nirvana sticks out for me. It's not an add-on to a hotel or golf course so feels more 'spa-ey' if that makes any sense at all (probably not!?). Just be wary about booking a socalled spa day which is just attached to a gym which isn't a true 'spa' experience (i.e. wondering around in bathrobes)

Whittlebury Hall was also very nice but that's a bit further out, towards Northampton.

Have a look on www.travelzoo.com to see whether they have any deals at the moment.

    Hope you find something suitable.

I did a spa weekend at the Hythe Imperial in Kent in the summer and had a fab time - the hotel is right on the beach front.

We bought the spa vouchers from this site https://www.spaandhotelbreak.co.uk/unitrader/shop/product/MERCURE-HYTHE-IMPERIAL-HOTEL-SPA-2-NIGHT-SPA-BREAK/4056

HTH - although I've just realised it is over budget!

Nirvana is nice, or you could try Eastwell Manor, they do (I think!!) special mother and daughter spa packages.

Lansdowne place spa hotel in Brighton is fab. I have been twice-was last there on 3rd November for our anniversary.

Lythe hill spa hotel in Haslemere, is also lovely.

Bit of a long way to go, but the hotel I stayed in a couple of weeks ago (Costa Meloneras) had a fantastic Spa. It was different rooms each with a global feel.

I sat in my bikini in an igloo & had crushed ice covered over me. Then went into a tropical lagoon to warm up & then walk around a ice cold rock pool on pebbles. Then onto waterbeds in a lava room. Then into a himalayan salt grotto & finally in a African hut (sauna)

    All for 24 Euro's.

Came out & had Doughnuts & Mojitos.

I was going to recommend Nirvana Spa. I went there with my 2 bridesmaids for my hen do and we had an amazing day. We did the floatation thing which was so relaxing. The whole place has a great feel about it and because it was a stand-alone spa rather than part of a hotel felt much more exclusive.

If we didn't live so far away now I would have gone back on several occasions.
