spanx

Bobbins30, 6 November, 2010 at 08:19 Posted on Planning 0 5

Has anyone tried Spanx before? Thinking of buying some but wanted to see what they're like first as they're quite expensive. Do they make you smaller or just more streamlined? And what happens to all the wobbly bits? I have visions of having a nice figure around hips and tummy but being like a marshmallow elsewhere - surely the wobble has to go somewhere or is it just pushed in? Help!

I got some to go to a friends wedding a couple of weeks ago and they were great. I don't know how they work, but all the lumps and bumps just go away, no muffin tops anywhere, very strange!

However, be warned! After the wedding breakfast I felt like I was going to burst. I hadn't eaten that much, but because my tummy was so restricted by the Spanx, I was pretty uncomfortable for a couple of hours. I think I'll just stick to wearing them for nights out now, not if I'm going for a meal or something. ?

Hey, i had to scramble for java on the iphone so i could reply!! I am tummy hugger queen...and spanx i didn't like! The best ones i have are from M&S and also look like cycling shorts. I have a flat stomach but wobbly hips so like them for streamlining me. It does make trousers looser so inches must be lost somewhere. The bulge doesn't redistribute on me just flattens in. I went for my fittings with them on! Hopefully by then i'll not be needing them Smiley smile xx

Mine were sooooooooooo uncomfortable. And sort of jammed my tummy fat upwards so it ended up under my boobies! That and having to wrestle them off did not equal the sexiest bedtime routine.

I'd rather have wobbly bits and be able to eat my tea!!

Thanks everyone, I have visions of me being like a sausage about to burst out of its skin! Think I might try some and try not to eat much!

I have Gok Wans slicker knickers, they are really comfortable and do a great job of making you look slimmer. I was really worried about buying another pair of slimming pants after buying some at George which kept rolling down on me, but the Gok Wan ones are great. They have this sort of boning/stiff part which stops them rolling and keeps everything nice and flat.
