I recently bought some spanx - the ones that go down your thighs and up to your tits. They do nothing, so either I got them in too large a size or I am too fat for spanx to help me

Spanx are fabulous when you're already slim and just need a bit of help smoothing out the edges as it were I've found. Now I've put on a bit of weight, they're crap. Like Lois said, perhaps mine are a size too big as the ones I got when I was teeny tiny were a right bugger to get on. These ones slip on like a pair of shorts.

Make sure you get the right size as you can't exchange.

My Spanx <cough> Power Panties <cough> do the trick although I swear that I get drunk quicker when I'm wearing them. Honestly! I was right on the edge of two sizes and opted for the smaller ones. They aren't uncomfortable.

? for your comments. I wish I could find a picture of a model standing up wearing the dress but I can't.

    Gah ! What to do?

<<clutching at straws>> It may even fit without magic pants<<clutching at straws>>

    Lovely dress!

This could just be me because I'm really clumsy - but I'd probably get the big pants rather than a version including tights - I'd end up laddering the tights! I love my spanx but the only prob is that my pair have a great big seam up the front which does tend to show through if the dress you're wearing is particularly tight/slinky. I find that mine smooth out the bulges a bit - but I think I should probably have got a smaller size as I was on the border and went for the bigger size. I would recommend them though!

I've got spanx boobs-knee pants and M&S's waist trimmer ones and I prefer the M&S ones. Possibly because they are far easier to get on/off in the loo and stuff.
