Spooky coincidences that make you stop and think

Mynnie the Moocher, 25 May, 2011 at 15:43 Posted on Planning 0 5

Sorry, I just had to share this and I was about to post on one of the wedding music threads but realised it's probably better off on it's own here....

It probably meant more to me at the time than it should, but it really did make me stop and think on each occassion....

Before we came away, my boss was being an utter tw*t. I left work at the end of my shift one night and was sat in my car ranting and raving about how vile he was (talking to myself, natch!), waiting for the screen to defrost and putting my bits and pieces into my bag etc. I paused to draw breath (!!?) and heard Moon River (my entrance song) playing on the radio. That was enough to make me calm down and just listen....seconds later his son walked out the front door!!!

Spooky enough in itself, but the following night I was in exactly the same place, doing exactly the same thing, for exactly the same reasons, and our first dance song (Let's Face the Music and Dance) came on the radio.......again it made me just shut up and listen!

The funny thing is, neither song is one I've ever heard played very much, if at all, on the radio because of their age.

Then, we were sat in a restaurant with friends 2 nights before we were due to leave for the island we were getting married on, and Minnie the Moocher came on the radio!!

Finally, to cap it all off, when we arrived at the wedding venue the day before the wedding, (exhausted after a very long hot and dusty uphill trek) we arrived to find Moon River playing on their sound system....and at this point they obviously had no idea what my wedding music was going to be.

Spooky stuff!! I have a friend (the sister of our BM's wife) who believes massively in signs.......she reckons this proves that H and I were just meant to be!

Anyone got any spooky wedding coincidences of their own to share?

Whenever me and OH sat down to work on our invites they always seemed to play one of our wedding songs on the radio. But thats not surprising as they do play them all the time!

When we first got together OH sent me a text saying "You and me were meant to be" to which i replied "walking free in harmony". He didn't understand so I told him it was lyrics to Rome Wasn't Built in a Day by Morcheeba. We were going to have that as our wedding song, but it's also my best friends song with her hubby so thought it would be unfair to have the same, but it will always remind me of our first few months together.

It's a song you very rarely hear and we were in town on Saturday and it came on in New Look (of all places). I heard the first few lines and turned to OH, he had a huge grin on his face. We had a big kiss and skipped off together into the sunset. Well maybe not the sunset and certainly not skipping, but we walked hand in hand out into the shopping centre grinning like buffoons. lol.

Hi everyone, not sure this is spooky but is def a coincidence. I have been upset that my mum is no longer with us to share in my excitement. I keep wanting to ring her to ask her opinions on things. Anyway just realised the other day, the ladies who are doing my flowers, invites and cake are all called Christine - mums name! So maybe she is giving her opinion ! xxx
