Spots!! Loads of them!!

Surreylass34, 17 August, 2011 at 12:14 Posted on Planning 0 10

I have woken up with a forehead full of spots, I exhagerate not! It is full of them, stopped counting at 15!! Red. itchy and very sore ☹️ I look like a hormonal teenage and at 35 thats not a good look! They all appeared over night - woke up excited about my dress fitting this afternoon and a concert tonight and after a look in the mirror was in tears about being a spotty bride! I had been trying to get rid of 1 spot that wasnt going up until this morning now i have a whole party!! Everyone is saying its stress but I dont actually feel that stressed!

Is any one else getting bad skin on the run up to the wedding and how are you dealing with it? I have 3 weeks to go so not panicking too much but still it is a new worry for me which I would like to get rid of and soonish!! I am already going to be a spotty hen at the weekend I dont want to be a spotty bride too! Any advice will be very welcome x

That sounds more like an allergic reaction than general spottiness. Have you got a new cream? New shampoo on fringe?

Am an OM, but started getting lots of spots recently. Have started using Origins Zero Oil cleanser, toner & dabbing on their spot remover at night. It's ace!

Are you drinking enough water? Also, try and get into a steam room - great for your skin.

ETA: Could be an allergic reaction like Footlong said.

I still suffer with spots at 40 and was really worried about my skin for the wedding...

I've been having regular facials and upped my skincare regime from 'a splash of water!' and its really worked.

The one big extravagance that has really helped is 'Elemis Emergency SOS Cream' ....if i've had a break-out, i've just used this for a couple of nights (it can feel greasy so i just use it at night) and it really calms down the spots quickly.

You've still got time to have a couple of facials, get that SOS cream and drink loads of water!

The problem is i've now got an expensive habit for facials and skincare that I want to keep up after the wedding :o)

    Good luck xx

Yes! I'm not alone. I thought I was starting to relax as all the big stuff is sorted but my chin has gone bonkers. I swear I looked better at 14 than 27... I've got 7 weeks for them to go but I'm not impressed and I daren't hide them under make up at work in case it only makes them worse.

More water and I think I'll have to treat myself to a new tube of Eve Lom Rescue mask. It costs a bloody fortune but has worked in the past. In the meantime I'm going to the shop for lunch and I'm buying a litre bottle of water to refill everyday at work!

Since I came off the pill I have had lots of intermittent breakouts, and what sorts them out for me is using Liz Earle Deep Cleansing mask every other day for about 10 days.

Sudacrem (if thats how its spelt) works wonders, i wash my face, cleanse and then smother with sudacrem and go to bed, get up in the morning and its dried them out. Works like magic.

I've had this recommended to me by loads of people. Must try it. I'm getting spots from the stress too. I'm averaging 3 new ones a day!

I've found it helps if I keep my hair off my face and change my pillowcases more often.

Get checked out at the doctor. I started with spots last year out of no where. The doc said it was acne roscea and gave me a light antibiotic and a roll on one. Gone in 3 days.

Even if it is not this it could be a reaction in which case they will be able to prescribe a stronger antihistamine :-)

Thank you all for your advice. I went to a pharmacist who has said it is a reaction to something so i am trying some antihistamines and they say it should go down in a few days. The trouble is they say no alcohol and its my hen do Saturday so like thats going to happen! will stop taking them tomorrow and slap on the concealer I think! Still there today and I am feeling a bit Smiley sad and very unattractive because of it x
