Square Invitations

celizabe, 4 June, 2013 at 18:42 Posted on Planning 0 8

Hi all,

We'd really like to have square invitations (about 142mm*142mm) with a photograph on the front and we're really struggling.

Do any of you know of a stationary shop or printers that would do something like this?

Thanks for your help!

    Hi,

Do you have a printer at home that you could use to make your own? We bought some white linen finish square postcards and envelopes from eBay - I think that these were 147mm in size. In the end we didn't actually use them for our invitations but we used the cards for our table numbers, menu cards, table plan etc and they were great!

Otherwise, I'm sure that Vistaprint or some other on-line printer would be able to produce something for you.

You can do your own on vista print if you upload your photo and you can choose different shapes and sizes and customise the text and they aren't expensive. OH's aunt did her wedding invites with them and they were lovely (not a photo mind) and I wouldn't have guessed until his mum told us. Worth having a look and playing around with a design to see if it suits what you want.

Hmm, maybe it was an almost square rectangle, either way they looked nice, lol.

What about getting the pics printed separately and then layering on to the cards? With either 3D tape or double sided tape? You could put something like mulberry paper or ribbon underneath? (I make cards as a hobby and love putting pics on cards with other stuff!)

Thanks so much to all of you for getting back to me.

I'll have a search around with your advice & let you know how I get on - who'd have thought square invites would be so hard!?!

I do a lot of square invitations, I like the symmetry of them!

I don't really want to use couple's pictures on here without their permission, but these designs might give you an idea of how you could incorporate a picture, either on it's own or with layering or decoration. On a tag, or as a central panel for example.

Also have alook on www.notonthehighstreet.co.uk and Emma's site: www.twenty-seven.co.uk

If you like the idea of vintage styles, have alook at www.lucyledger.co.uk

My site is www.millieandme.net or there are loads of pictures on Facebook as 'Millie and Me'

Hope you find what you're looking for!

Printed.com do square folded invites. I've used them a lot for work and can't fault quality or price.
