Stainless Steel Splash Backs

**excited**, 29 March, 2009 at 20:08 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 7

Hello.

Does anyone have one? If so how do you keep it clean?

We have just had one fit and it looks awful....it's all streaky.

Any tips?

Thanks.

Baby oil is supposed to clean stainless steel. A tiny bit on a bit of kitchen towel

*disclaimer* Ive never used it myself, I saw it on DIYSOS *disclaimer*

Baby oil, I haven't used it but OH has. It needs to be washed down first, then the baby oil. It keeps it cleaner for a bit longer.

Yep I had a streaky one for 9 months before I tried the baby oil. Clean it when you do your housework as usual with flash or something and when it is dry kitchen roll and baby oil and it comes up streak free and spotless. The only problem is it collects dust (obviously because it is oily) so will need a wipe over with kitchen roll every other day (or more).

So if anyone knows what product will clean high gloss floor tiles withought them streaking my new kitchen will look ermm....... like new!?

You need a microfibre cloth, clean as normal and then dry off any residue with the cloth and it keeps stainless steel lovely and streakfree.

A microfibre cloth is great. I just spray the splashback with flash antibacterial spray and clean with the cloth.

I clean mine with a microfibre cloth and window cleaner then polish with almond oil furniture polish, dirt doesn't stick to is as easily as it does with baby oil
