Star lit dance floor... Yes or No

Mel.Jones82, 10 April, 2014 at 18:18 Posted on Planning 0 10

Ladies, Gents,

i just wanted to get your opinions on whether to book a company to lay a star lot dancefloor in white. What's your views? Tacky or glam? I'm undecided.

Thanks for reading, Mel

I personally don't like them. Or the twinkle backdrops, etc.

Luckily I think my venue is nice enough not to need them.

But if you feel your venue could do with a bit of jazzing up a bit, then go for it.

I like them but we didn't have one. If you have the budget and you like it then go for it.

    Mmmm....

I've seen some really nice ones and some potage stamp sized ones.

If the budget is ok then go for it!

I love them but cheapest one we could find was £600 and our budget wouldn't stretch Smiley sad

I like them, wouldn't suit my venue but if you have the budget and deem it a good worthwhile expense then why not - I'd personally save the money and spend it else where though.

Thanks for all you replies. Is £600 the average price then? I'm struggling to find a supplier in South Yorkshire

    Hi Mel

We are quite a bit cheaper than £600 for our twinkling dance floors and we cover South Yorkshire!

It goes on the size your after. The most popular size is 16ft x 16ft which is £450 or you can go slightly smaller at 14ft x 14ft for £400.

Delivery fee will be around £20-£30 depending on the venue post code.

I am having a black star lit dancefloor and think they are a great idea if within your budget to just add another level to the evening party. It's all about personal preference though as I like the dance floors but don't like the back drops you can get!! Ours cost £450 for a 16ft x 14ft if that helps when you are looking around and suppliers. Good luck!

I really like them and hope there is enough left in the budget for one :-)

I think you get some that look tacky and some that look great, just depends on the rest of the venue and how it fits it. I'd love one in black, and if they're to your taste and you can afford it then I'd go for it!
