Started my table decs - flash!

Hello everyone!

So I've been saving different shaped bottles up for a while now and finally mocked up my idea for reception tables. Painted in normal matt black paint (3/4 coats) and painted the tops in 'old bronze penny' metallic paint. That doesn't show so well on the pic though. I'm going to order some calla lillies and some foliage to put in them, and weigh them down with sand. I am also going to have led tealights and some ivy to wind around the bottles to make it abit more gothic / pagan. I'be started to collect bits of different lace which I will out on them all where the labels normal go. I've gone all Kirsty Allsop and driving the other half mad!

Thank you :-) I must admit, it is sending me quite crazy and I've only done 9 so far. Another 40 odd to go!

They look great Rockabird- and much as you will be sick of doing them by the time you're done, it will be SO worth it! I felt much the same about the satin flowers I made for our 'aisle' end decs, and am feeling the same now about the massive amount of stationery I have to decorate by hand... not to mention the table plan, signing frame etc etc!! However, whenever I get to the 'I can't go on, I'll order from vistaprint...' stage I just look at the one finished 'prototype' I have and it reminds me why I'm doing it!

I'm tempted to think about decorating the vases I've bought for our table centres now I've seen yours.... like I need any more to do!!

Thank you :-) and sound advise when I just can't take anymore haha!

I didn't think normal emulsion wouldn't take but seems ok after a good 3 coats. I've got some JD bottles coming soon from friends which I think will look ace with them being angular. I also brought some wine the other day purely because of the bottle shape. Wine was nasty but I had to drink it ;-)
