    Hi Pandora

I started on Monday. I am finding it OK so far, but i know i will start getting bored of trying to think of dinners etc! To be honest finding it hard to use up all my daily points at the moment! I have been spending a lot of time online, reading up on it all and THINK ive just about figured it all out!!

I have done Slimming World in the past and this worked well for me, but when i tried it for the second time i just couldnt get into it so me and a friend decided to try WW for a change.

How are you getting on? When did you start?

    ?

    Hollie xx

Hi Hollie! I started Monday too, did well that day and yest but as today is my birthday it has gone a bit wrong as ate out and I have used well over my points. Just having a nice glass of wine with my feet up and thinking, 'I really need to add this to my points tracker'. Oops! But it will even out later in the week hopefully. I need to read up more, it seems a bit confusing at the moment.

Hi thought id join in, i started ww 11 weeks ago and have lost 12 pounds so far without sticking to it 100%. i use to do slimming world on and off for 5 yrs but found my portion sizes were huge!, no wonder i never lost lol! my friend did fab on ww and lost nearly 5 stone in 1 yr!. It did take me a while too with these pro points and working your allowances out.....but i must say it does work. Now if I cud just stick to it 100% il hit my target and fit into my wedding dress in no time! ? only have 8 months! ah!

Hehe! Oh dear! Dont forget you have the 49 extra weekly points to use up, thats what they are they for when you fancy a blow out!! Im sure as long as you get back into it the next day it wont make much difference.

Let me know how much you lose when you weigh in! What day will it be Monday?

Happy Birthday for yesterday, hope you had a great day ? xx

Thanks for the cake Hollie, at least that one can't make me put any weight on hehe.

I will be weighing in on Monday so fingers crossed for us all! Have you tracked your measurements too? I haven't got round to filling that bit in yet.

I think those 49 'bonus' points per week are great, but I am not sure how I will lose weight really - I am so far eating as normal and (apart from birthday) nowhere near using all my daily points. Maybe I need to make my daily points more limited somehow, or I did it wrong. Based on my weight, height etc it has give me 33 points per day which I am finding to be loads on a normal day.

I am also putting in activities I have done at the gym, but for 15 mins moderate cross trainer it is only allowing me 1 point to exchange which I think is a bit mean!

Hi Mrs2bshellie, sounds like you have done really well! I am sure you will do it in the next 8 months, that dress is a big spur! As I am still over a year away I am not feeling too much pressure... so far anyway ?

Love is a lamp, while friendship is the shadow. When the lamp is off, you will find the shadow everywhere. Friend is who can give you strength at last.

Yes i have put my measurements in, but probably wont keep that up!

I have been given 34 points and am also finding it hard to use them all! I read somehwere on the website that if you cant use them all thats fine but you should be having at least 29 points per day. I have been having pretty much the same meals as normal (cutting out a few things like pizza!) but slightly smaller portions. I have been using up my extra points by having a bag of snack-a-jacks at work!!

I couldnt wait until monday to weigh myself.......... so i did this morning and i have lost 3lbs already!! So even if its no more than that on monday i am very chuffed with that! ?

Hollie I read this and thought 'That's so great, but nah no point me weighing in, I feel HUUUUGE' but in the end I weighed myself too and have lost 4 lbs! ? Whoo hoo! I am so surprised after the birthday blow out. So obv the WW actually works. So far so good!

I have also done smaller portions, and switched orange juice for water and tried to snack on cherries and berries instead of stodge and carbs like toast. Also my fave crabsticks are 0 points so I am chuffed with that.

Huge well done to you! Just realised I am away Sun til Weds so my next weigh in will have to be when I get back, good luck for Monday, update me if you can! ?

Hiya Hollie that is great well done! I haven't been able to go online to track all my meals, got back and just had a little weigh in and sadly have put back on the 4 lbs that I had lost!! Oops. It is rubbish but I kind of expected it as we have eaten out each day we were away - I tried to go for lighter options but just not often enough! Although we were doing lots of walking I knew that the meals would be just too much...plus then the extra little ice creams and naughty things like that. Oh well, back on it now I am home and just got to keep on trying. At least I know when I make proper meals I can lose some, so I am sure I can get it off again! Congrats to you for doing so well in the first week! ?

Hi, I havent posted on here for ages! But thought I would add something about WW and ProPoints...

It is literally the best diet I have ever been on! It isnt even really a diet, its a healthy eating program, which becomes the norm after a while. So, I started in October and found it tricky to get to grips with; what with the 49 extra ppts etc. But Oh my goodness it definitely works!!

I have been following WW Propoints for 9 months and have lost 3 stone! I couldve lost more, but I havent always been good!!!

So yes, just wanted to say its fab and really really works! Good luck with it all Smiley smile

Wow Katey that is incredible! 3 stone in just a few months is amazing!

Well after my long weekend away with my mum where I put on the 4lbs, I am away again this week with OH so I fear it is not going to be a good result! We will be doing a mix of home cooked meals as it is an apartment, and also having a few naughty eating out nights. There are no scales here so I will not be able to check up on myself til Friday. But as I will be doing lots of surf sports and walking it may hopefully balance out!

It is just about making correct choices when we do eat out, so whereas I might pick something deep fried or with chips or whatever, I will make a change and go for the salad side and so on. I like the pro-points thing as it is really making me aware of food choices, before if I wasn't inputting it I wouldn't care, then go to the gym and wonder why I wasn't losing anything! I think it is good as it really focuses me. Last week I did not make the correct choices cos of the 'it's a holiday' attitude, but now I will consciously make more effort!

Hi Pandora, thats great news - well done! ?

I have now lost 6lbs in total, a nice steady 2lbs per week which i am pleased with. I have still be having treats etc so i think if i had a week without any i might do even better! I still havent really been doing much exercise either, now ive got my head round all the points etc i think i'll start!

    xx

    Hi all,

I just wanted to add my 2 pennies worth!

I started ProPoints on 11th May and so far have lost over 20lbs. I cant stress enough how easy it is to do. I've alwasy been keen in the kitchen so thinking up new, low fat recipes just adds to the fun.

There are so many options out there. I have a packet of crisps a day and chocolate at least 3 times a week and am STILL losing weight - how many diets let you do that?

The one thing I will say though is, if you're a big alcohol drinker, prepare to give it up. Even though you're ALLOWED to drink, I've found that in the weeks where I don't drink any alcohol I can lose 3-4lbs, but in the weeks I do, I only lose 1 or even none.

Haha I sound like I work for them don't I?

I went through a cahsback site so effectively got 3 months for free. It was on moneysavingexpert. So I figured it was worth a try!

I have lost 5lbs in total now, I am fluctuating between 7 and 5 lost, so I am going to step up the exercise and see if that helps. I have been doing loads of baking though so had lots of naughty extras so really can't expect to be losing loads!

This week I have done a water aerobics class, gym 3 times so hopefully that will balance out my naughty cupcake nibbling!

I seem to have stuck at 12 stone 11.5 for the past 2 weeks, I am getting really frustrated with myself! I have been really active this past week as well as eaten much smaller portions than usual so am hoping when I do next week's weigh in it will have had some effect! I have made gazillions of cupcakes for various things as wel and had such good willpower - only eaten 1 single tiny cake.

    Hey everyone,

Been reading this thread and thought I would post something - I've been doing WW (meetings and online) for the past year, and have lost 18lbs so far... (I was away travelling for 6 months, so my weight loss slowed a bit during that time...). Recently got engaged and so have now got The Big Day spurring me on and I'm determined to get back into it!

I have to say, I've never had the big 3-4lb a week losses that some people do - I've never had over 2lbs a week... and recently I've started to plateau, although I think that's definitely more down to me not trying that hard, rather than WW itself!

I completely agree with the comment about drinking alcohol - I absolutely love a nice glass of red (who doesn't?!) but when you go to enter it into your tracker and see that it's 6PPs, it makes you think "errr... maybe not...". My mum is a big fan of Rosemary Conley, and her class were told that alcohol does something to your body where it basically makes your body 'hang onto' calories rather than allowing them to pass through... plus I always get the munchies when I've had a few!!

I did actually say to my meeting Leader the other day that I think the 34 points I'm supposed to be on was a bit too high as I was plateauing, and she told me to drop it a couple of points to 32 to see if that would jumpstart it a bit.

I want to lose another 2 stone by our wedding (10 months tomorrow!!) so fingers crossed! GOOD LUCK EVERYONE and keep us posted on your weigh-ins! I'm going to my meeting tomorrow... eek.

Doing Well started 3 weeks ago and lost 8 lbs (didn't loose any last week ate out and had a really bad fat day but didnt put any on which is the main thing Smiley laugh). Even went to Brighton last night to watch Brighton V Liverpool with my fiancé and drunk pints, ate burger and choc but still within my points bonus Smiley smile

My favourite meal at the mo is teriaki chicken stir fry - relatively low in points but fills you up because you use loads of veggies which are free so happy days Smiley smile

Oops! It is so hard to get back into the swing of it with holidays and even slightly changing the routine. I think with WW its ok to deviate a bit now and again, maybe do some extra activity to get some points back!
