Starting to feel overwhelmed...........

MrsFitt2B, 30 June, 2015 at 10:57 Posted on Planning 0 3

Our wedding is in one month, (we get married on 1st August,) and I am starting to feel really overwhelmed by everything. I feel like I could have a complete emotional meltdown at any moment and I have no idea why! I don't feel stressed; yes there are things to do but nothing that is giving me any cause for concern. I have a relatively short to do list and I try to do one thing on it every couple of days, at least, to whittle it all down. So why do I feel so completely emotional and a little bit anxious?!

We have a full week off before the wedding, so we will have loads of time to deal with any problems then. My parents, sister and other BM will be around on the Thursday and Friday before the wedding to help too.

I suppose I'm just worried I've missed something, or it won't all come together properly.

Is this normal? Does anyone else feel like this? I'm waiting for the excitement and anticipation to kick in!

Yes, this is totally normal. I was an emotional wreck for the month before the wedding - bursting into tears at the slightest provocation! I put it down to putting so much effort into the planning, so even if you're not stressed as such, you start to feel overwhelmed as the date comes closer and closer. My only advice would be to just go with it - if you overanalyse how you're feeling, you're likely to start feeling stressed! Make some time for you and your partner to spend some quality, non-wedding alone time together, and try to focus on other things if you can. Most of all, remember that how you're feeling is totally normal!! I had friends tell me they felt the same before their weddings, and it helped to know I wasn't nuts!

This sounds normal to me. Up until a couple of weeks ago I was an emotional wreck. Every time I thought about the wedding I would just get upset and feel as though everything was falling down on top of me.

It doesn't last though, I'm back to being giddy and excited now with a few more days to go. The fact that you will have some time off before the big day will really help you to chill out a bit too.

Thank you so much for reassuring me, it's good to know I'm not the only one feeling like this! I'm not sure how I thought I was supposed to feel, but this didn't feel right! I think I shall do as you suggest, jsut go with the flow and not let anything get to me.

I get married on the 4th aug, last week i was moody, stressy and teary. I sat and wrote a list and have already ticked off four items, chill. Me and future hubby are sat in the garden drinking wine and relaxing, try and forget the wedding for a couple of weeks, i think i would be climbing the walls else. Just get the list up to date and let yourself be excited!!
