Starting tommorow or tuesday

Chez2k, 5 October, 2008 at 14:36 Posted on Beauty & Wellbeing 0 7

I am going to be joining you all either tommorow or tuesday on the weightloss front.

I joined Forever Living as a distributor last week and am going to give their weightloss programme a go to see what it is like.

I need to loose about 2-3 stone anyway (need to do this before I get married - not sure when this is yet, but if I can get it off and maintain it I will be chuffed).

Has anyone else done this programme? If so, how did you find it.

It starts off with a 2 day detox which I think will be a bit of a killer. I'll have to keep you all updated.

I've never heard of it - do you have any more info about it? What sort of programme is it? VLCD/calorie contolled etc?

Looks like a VLCD to me plsu additional supplements. Sadly, some of the nutritional claims are suspect e.g. "The garcinia cambogia fruit contains Hydroxycitric Acid (HCA), a compound which has been shown to reduce the body’s conversion of carbohydrates into fats." According to Wikipedia (which I know isn't always right but in this case the studies are linked) saying that there are no clinical trials showing this in human beings. According to my rule - if it really did work, doctors would be prescribing it and there would be no fat people.

Oh, and whilst I'm getting on my high horse, regardless of the merits or otherwise of following VLCDs, anything that advocates a 'detox' is utter, utter bilgey phoney bollocks of the highest order. There is no such thing as detox - your body does that of its own accord without resorting to pills, potions, raw food diets etc.

Bollocks or not I am going to give it a try.

I would update on how it is going - but won't bother seen as it looks like there isn't a lot of support here.

When I did SW and posted on here in the past people were able to support and talk to me. But obviously not this time cos I trying something different!!

    Thanks anyway.

Still come and tell us how its going. Give it a go and see how you get on. I personally wouldn't do a diet like that as I prefer the flexibilty that WW gives me.

Oh FFS. There is loads of support here and it's precisely that reason why I'm bluntly telling you that you should not waste money on miracle supplements. They don't work. Think about it...if they really worked why isn't everyone a normal BMI? Don't take disagreement for not being supportive.

When did you do SW? Why didn't it work for you? Tell us more about your lifestyle, what this diet is and then we can offer some helpful advice.

Just because I'm criticising the diet (or rather the detox and supplements in this case), does not mean that I'm criticising you.

I'm sorry?! I think I posted a perfectly reasonable question given that the programme isn't widely known. I see you haven't even bothered to respond to that question before going off in a huff. Just how exactly to you expect to receive support if we don't even know what it is! Sheesh!

Chez2K, stop being ridiculous. FWIW I agree with Baron. Also I feel that if you choose to be ripped off that's your business, but given that it is a business you're becomig involved in, clearly you're intending to rip other women off too.
