Statement or simple?

ShropshireLass, 21 February, 2014 at 12:44 Posted on Planning 0 9

So, I finally found a hairpiece after months of searching, now I'm stuck on jewellery!! (and slowly losing the will to live!!!)

My dress has a lot of detail and a very sparkly belt. I'm unsure if I should just go for a simple pearl pendant necklace or have more of a statement piece. I've seen a couple of necklaces which I like...

My dress is benjamin roberts 2392.

I was quite obviously not born with the capacity to make decisions as almost every aspect of this wedding has caused huge stress with my inability to make a decsision and stick to it!

Well as Cupcake said, it really depends on your sytle & what look you want. Personally, I think your dress is beautiful & anything too fancy may detract from the detailing on it so I would go very simple...possibly a single pearl necklace.

Gorgeous dress!! And one you can get away with either option. If you can take statement/chunky jewellery and it's what you like then go for it.

Out of the two you've shown I prefer the heavier one to be honest. I think the smaller one might be lost with the dress. I do think a light chain and pendant perhaps wouldn't work as well as a more substantial piece, ie the glitzy secrets necklace. A pearl necklace rather than a pendant might work well, especially if you match it with a bracelet and earrings.

jmho but hope this helps. xx

    I love your dress.

Those necklaces are both nice, and to be honest I really think you'd need to try them all on to see if they went. It's difficult to see beforehand. Personally I'd go for simple jewellery. I love the look of pearls on a bride.

My dress is embellished lace with sparkles and I'm not wearing a necklace. I've good a big blingy headband and and I think the earrings I've bought may be too 'much' with it so may end up with plain pearls.

Love the dress. Sorry to throw a spanner in the works, but have you thought about not wearing a necklace?

Looking at the pictures online of the dress you can do either.

It all depends on your style and what else you are wearing jewellery wise or if you have a tiara/veil etc.

Thanks for all your replies!! I've not been online for a couple of days.

I saw, fell in love with and bought this today...

Along with my headband (cheeky flash below), I think I'm just about all set...(although, saying that has made me realise I don't have a bracelet yet but there is a matching one to the necklace) It's only taken me 6 months to accessorise my dress...I just hope it all looks ok together!! Will find out next wed at my final fitting!!
