For brides on a pretty tight budget, how are you handling stationary? xo

I wish my budget was stationary... it keeps moving, usually upwards.

We made ours ourselves - created little booklets in Microsoft Publisher, printed out on the work copier when the boss was out, stapled and folded with a loose insert RSVP and reply envelope.

Minimal cost, in fact the most expensive thing was the stamps for the reply envelopes, by a long shot.

Mine has all come from Vista print or been home-made - I think i've spend about £50 on it in total.

My invites are Vista rank cards, my RSVP are Vista postcards which I got free by their offers, and just paid the postage my evelopes were £5 off ebay and are sealed with sticky notes from Ebay (£3) - i've also got little magnets in the invites with the wedding day and RSVP deadline, also free (except for few pound postage) from vista again using their offers.

I've made mine, i've made a pocket on the inside and made an information sheet and menu sheet to go inside. it has saved me alot of money as FMIL printed all the bits off at her work. i just need to make the OOS now. i did buy the evening invites though and added to them so they match my theme.

I'd definitely suggest making them yourself. Ours looked absolutely fab and it was my very nice FILTB and MILTB that made them for us. We had a very talented graphic designer friend do the design and then my in laws did the printing/cutting etc.

Everyone thought they were totally professional. I'd recommend if you don't use somewhere like Vistaprint (I couldn't figure it out) that you buy your card online instead of at Hobbycraft as it's much cheaper. Hope that helps!

We just did ours last week. 115 invites, (cards with inserts) with rsvp cards and envelopes and stamps cost less than £100. I told my brother what I wanted, he designed them, OH bought the card and paper from work, I printed them at work (paid for it - no free printing for me! but much cheeper than at a print place) Then the envelopes were from staples.

We did get it costed at a print place and they quoted £100, which was just printing and card/paper. I also checked out Vistaprint but as I wanted my own design, in a certain format with inserts and back and so on it got quite expensive. Plus much quicker doing it all at work.

I got 40 invites from vistaprint for £15, although cos im plaaning a wedding in so many weeks i paid £20 for postage ? but still, under 40 pound for 40 gorgeous invites is still a bargain! If your not in no rush you will get them really cheap from there. I paid 3.99 for linen finish which is really worth it, makes them look super posh!
