Stationary - Please help!

Puddycat, 11 May, 2012 at 17:15 Posted on Planning 0 22

I am just read the thing on here re Stationary and NOT paying for samples and I am glad that I have as some are expensive!

Can anyone recommend anyone for stationary? I know what I want but I can't seem to find it ☹️ We don't need many daytime invites but but a fair few evening. I would also like to tie in RSVP's, place settings etc etc

Also do you have to order everything at the same time? By this I mean it is unlikely that we will know the menu or order of service when the invites go out. This is the one bit that is driving me mad! [:'(]

Thank you

You can order things as you go along from us all we need to know is what items you want and the design we wouldnt print and make them till you had all the correct info and as long as that is no later than 4 weeks before the wedding it isnt a problem Smiley laugh

Hiya, there are many suppliers on here in the directory that are fab and do some lovely bespoke work both printed and hand crafted,

With regards to ordering all at once my brides in partrticular find this useful as they benefit from more full package discounts and free seating plans ect and we adjust the balance to suit the numbers from the initial quote in the final payment as these items begin to go to print.

Our other option is just orderning direct through our site for individual items, from a print point of veiw our turn around is pretty quick if you are going handcrafted i should imagine the suppliers would need a rough idea for on the day stationery as it can take time to produce these items by hand so need to allocate slots and timescales.

hope this helps a bit Smiley smile

    regards kirsty

Meant to say also all finer details are usually organised nearer the time i ask my clients to give me a week before there wedding day for place cards ect as guest lists can often change and order of service 2 weeks prior as your vicar usually likes to see a copy so gives me enough time to liase with them before print Smiley smile

    Hi Puddycat

I'd love to help. I offer a FREE, no obligation design service and work with you to design your perfect stationery whilst working to your budget.

I offer printed, handmade and even laser cut stationery. All work is produced in house to assure the quality.

I do usually advise my clients to book everything at the same time just to guarantee that I can then do their on the day items for them as I get booked up so far in advance. That said, I don't ask you to pay for everything up front. There is a 75/25/25% split and you don't need to confirm numbers etc until 4 weeks before the wedding which gives you the flexibility at the end so you don't have to pay for something you may not need at the end.

If you'd like to see some of my portfolio you can check out www.inspiremedesigns.co.uk or on facebook at www.facebook.com/inspiremedesigns

I can certainly do that for you. Nothing is an unreasonable request

Although, if you have a printers near you that may be another option.

Thank you all. This most certainly gives me some options. Maybe I am just fussy? I am very nervous of the fact that the invitation speaks a 1000 words!

I like the way you think Puddycat.... I obviously feel the same way. Stationery is SO important as its not just a piece of paper, it's an invitation to the most important day of your lives ?

Do you think it's really important? Now I'm having a bit of a think.

My evening invites are really basic and the majority of people will be getting these. Just a postcard type thing printed with all the info and with a pretty design around the edge. I might mount them, I doubt it though. I'd rather spend money on more people coming. I was quoted £650 for 25 day invites, 50 evening invites and 50 place names and it scared the bejeesus out of me! From that point I said I'd rather do a facebook group invite for free!!

HelsAngel - I obviously think they are important as it's what I do and I LOVE all kinds of stationery but it comes down to budget and what you think is important. Everybody is different. If it's not so important to you then use that money in more important places.

For me, there is nothing like getting a lovely invite in the post ?

Beautiful invites don't have to cost the earth either. I work within the clients budget to produce something special for them whilst they stay in control of how much they want to spend.

Apologies, I didn't mean for it to sound like I was belittling it. It was more a question like "Oh no! Is it that important and I'm just kind of winging it?" but then I guess, like you say, it depends on what's important to you. ?

Oh no, I know how it was meant to come out hence why I was trying to say yes, it's important to some but not as important to others. It's where you see it's importance that matters. Please don't panic ?

I was always taught ........ First Impressions Count....... I have found many many times in life that there is never a truer word said. (To look at me you would Never in a million years guess what i do for a living lol). So to me YES it is very important. Not only due to first impressions but it will help to create the magical day and evening that I am dreaming of. It gives people an idea of what to expect so they can do things for example dress appropriately! ?
