Went to bluewater yesterday afternoon - had planned to go to travel agents to research honeymoon prices, but both of them had closed early (eh?), then thought i would go buy something small to cheer me up - went to get money out and bank machine went UH UH (family fortunes style) as i had no money left (thank god for pay day tomorrow!) SO i went to swag to try on some wedding rings for fun.

and i shouldn't have. i have fallen in love with a diamond wedding ring that is probably WAAAAAAY over h2b's budget ?. i tried on plain bands with my ring, but the diamond one made it look soooo much more sparkly! i just succeeded in making myself even more sorry for myself.

this is the wedding ring:

apols for massive pic... the baguette diamonds match the ones in my e-ring.

please all tell me that it is ugly, too expensive, and that a plain band will look just as gorgeous....

Sorry I can't help you here either! I have a gorgeous engagment ring and was dead set on a plain band....but fell in love with one with a bit of sparkle! Remember, you are going to be wearing it for the rest of your life so you need to love it....

The most disgusting ring I've ever seen!!! I feel your pain Bluewater, I would've loved a band with some sparkle but OH was adamant taht we should have matching rings - something about the rings having some significance or other ?? - as its the only wedding related thing he's had an opinion about I had to let him have his way. Just means I have to save the sparkle for when I get an eternity ring!

I have the exact same problem dammit. I think aversion therapy is the answer, you need to get an elastic band and put it round your wrist and every time you think of sparkly WRings you should snap it!

You know that feeling you got when you found The Dress? all excited and not wanting to take it off? well i didn't get that feeling with the dress. but i got it with the ring. ?

i think what i need to do is go to hatton garden and see where i can get the best deal.

debbydoo, i thought matching rings might be nice too - i can see where your h2b is coming from, but h2b is adamant he wants yellow gold, and my e-ring is platinum so that's not going to happen...

I can see where he's coming from too and really I think its quite sweet of him, he's a big softie! Luckily though he was happy to go with white gold bands to match my ring. Do you think he would change his mind if you took him to try some on?

If it is over budget now - why not go for a plain band and then have something like that for your eternity ring - so you have sparkle, plain, sparkle
