Sterilising jam jars....

Quick question for the domestic goddesses out there...

how long do you put glass jam jars i the oven for? and at what tempertaure?

    I wash them up and rinse them out and put them in the oven about 100-150 degrees until I'm ready for them (or a little before so they have time to cool a little). Nigella says to use them straight out of the dishwasher.

    I wash and rinse them, then put them in the microwave with a teaspoon or so of water in them and microwave on full power till the water's evapourated

    the lids are boiled in a pan of water for a few minutes

    I was going to say what Kegsy said - Nigela says they're sterile from a dishwasher cycle.

    I use the dishwasher way too- Nigella says as long as they're fresh from a cycle and still hot they'll be fine.
