Still love your ring?

Kentish Gal, 22 July, 2013 at 13:11 Posted on Planning 0 42

I've been wearing my engagement ring since Oct 22nd, so not AAAGES, but long enough that I should stop being distracted by it and constantly notice how pretty it looks (shame about my blotchy sausage fingers though).

Anyone else still in love with their e-ring?

    Yes :-D

I can't wait to have my wedding ring to admire too!

Kentish - how did you feel in your dress on the day in the end? You looked amazing, I hope any doubts were gone by the big day for you x

Thanks!! Between you and I...? I didn't feel fab. I felt very happy, I knew the dress was a truly beautiful dress and very much more 'me' than any others (confirmed by all my friends, none of whom had seen it) but I am a little upset at the pics of me, and I felt a bit tubby having not lost the weight I wanted to.

HOWEVER saying that, my groom was fighting the tears when I entered the hall and I knew he loved how I looked. I was happy. So, so, so happy that day. It truly was the best, most life-affirming day of my life. I still feel overwhelmed at the love and support we received, and very proud of H and me for keeping the focus where we wanted it and opening our hearts up fully with all our friends and family present Smiley smile xx

    (I'm such a hippy, lol)

I do, but it's not the style I would have chosen for myself and I didn't have the heart to tell my OH that. I did a bit of extra work in a jewellers for a while to earn some extra cash for the wedding and found my perfect ring!

Never mind, I still love mine, because he chose it for me.

I'm without mine at the moment and it will probably take a month or so to repair (probably double that!) so I'm looking forward to getting it back and feeling the love all over again!

I'd only had it a couple of months and already feel naked without it!

Mine is currently being re-plated ready for the wedding and I hate not having it on! Took it to the jewellers on Saturday but keep having mini panics when I realise I'm not wearing it! Should only take 10 days to do but I'm going to leave it off until the wedding day so it doesn't loose it's shine!

I definitely do. it's okay. I've made peace with my fingers.

I can live with them a lot better now there's something sparkly to distract the onlooker Smiley winking

If it's any consolation, I have the ugliest, boniest, witchiest looking hands ever, H2B says they look like loads of gnarly dead tree branches stuck together. Lovely. Agree about shiny thing making them all better though Smiley winking Can't wait to get my wedding ring to wear too!!!

I think I've perfected the 'looking at my nails (actually looking at my ring' move so people don't think I'm too obsessed! Haha

I still love mine, but when I was polishing it this morning a bit of coating came on one of the slants (one on each side between the prongs) so I don't like looking at it at the moment as it makes me feel :-(

Yep I still stare at my engagement ring every time it catches the light or I was my hands and the water makes it super sparkly. I still love that OH was brave enough to choose it himself and did a cracking job. I think because I only wear it on weekends (I can't wear it at work and wouldn't want to keep taking it off and putting it on in the week in case I lost it) I appreciate it more when I'm able to wear it. I can't wait until I have my wedding ring because I can wear that at work so I will never have to take that off.

I've had my for a little over two years and still spend huge amounts of time in awe of how it sparkles in different lights. When I worked in retail I had customers comment on a daily basis about how beautiful it was and I'm currently in a new job and enjoying the comments from new people about how lovely it is. It needs re-dipped but every time I think I can stand to be parted from it for a few weeks I remember a social gathering or such like where I would feel totally lost without it. I just want to wear my beautiful wedding band now and start choosing eternity rings.

I love mine more than my wedding real and somehow it means more. I stare at it on the train, less so when driving.

I actually wear my ER below my wedding ring, because in my misguided train of thoughts, I think this if I was to lose a ring, it would just be the top one. Or if I ever was face to face with an evil mugger, I feel I might be able to satisfy his evil mugging quota with just the top wedding ring, and would persuade him to leave the more sparkly and clearly more expensive ER to me...

I often sit and stare at mine and I've developed a habit of twirling it around on my finger. I must look a right simpleton at times!

Yay it wasn't scratched it was polished I had not buffed off! Duh! I am back to loving mine again now yay! I love how it sparkles, especially in shops, it's blindingly sparkly in there, the people in my local supermarket must think I'm a right weirdo as i just go round staring at ring instead of what I need to buy.

I do still love mine even though I've stared at it for far too long now that I was starting to resent it for not being a wedding ring lol.

Now everythings going ahead properly with a date set and progress is being made, we're back on staring terms x

Only had mine for just under 3 months but i LOVE it, always stare at it in work, my colleagues must think I'm nuts! H2b designed it ?

Even though I haven't had it long though, the underneath bit of the band does look a bit worn already, not scratched exactly, but not all shiny and new like the top of the band by the diamond. It's 18ct white gold. Is this normal, or should I be more careful with it? I'm planning on having it dipped for the wedding next year.

Still love it and do catch myself staring at it even a year later. This weekend, OH kept saying "oohhhhh look how sparkly your ring is today". In the sunshine at the moment the diamond almost goes bright white.

    Boy done good!
