    Tell me about it!

Up until early last week we were buying a house - had waited 3 months and were just about getting towards exchange after a long and stressful time. And then it fell through. We are now back to square one, looking again!

It has made OH and I more snappy at each other too, which isn't cool. I just want to be in a new place!!

We're buying our first house at the moment. I can honestly say it's the most stressful thing we've ever gone through and I'll be so glad when it's over! The worst bit was getting the mortgage through, now we're ready for exchange but the sellers have gone quiet on us!

It is very stressful but l am sure it will be worth it in the end. We bought our first house last year and it was hard work. Not helped by annoying tenants (the house had been rented out), an annoying seller and their rubbish solicitor.

We've been in our house less than 6 weeks and its been totally worth the wait, the stress, the handwork that kept in the dark feeling..

Try and keep positive! Smiley smile

Hang on in there! It is stressy - I cant believe ours was a year and a half ago and it was tense trying to sort it out as OH was kind of classed as self employed for the year previous to us applying and man it made it hard work! supposed to be even harder now I hear - BUT it will be worth it! (she says having spent the last 18 months leaking money in a permanent state of DIY...gonna have to be surgically removed from my paintbrush in the end)

    GOOD LUCK!

    Thanks everyone :]

ive had a phone attached to my ear all day yesterday, and seems that way today as well. I'm of the phone now and I'm being pushed from one to another. Spoke to a broker yesterday and then had a call this morning from a guy representing halifax, spent an hour with him going through small details and saying he could lend us what we wanted. Asked him for a number to call him to confirm if we wanted to go ahead with our application and he said he didn't have a direct line. He also said he'd email all the key facts over which he hasn't so I'm trying to get someone to email them now, and it bloody well sounds as though no-one knows who that guy was!! :[ so we're no where near to putting in an application for our mortgage!! Which is frustrating.

We went through Halifax, they were great and fairly quick. We'd tried with leeds BS previously and they took forever!

This makes me worried! We haven't started the mortgage process yet but would like to next year.

I am sure it will be worth it in the end Smiley smile

Just keep repeating to yourself 'it'll all be worth it in the end' that's all I could do to get through it!

It's hideous but keep going- it will be worth it in the end. We were 7 months from viewing to completion and that was as first time buyers ?

It is stressful. But worth it. Our mortgage was easy and straightforward, and we had no proper chain, so things moved fairly quickly. However. Doing it in first year of Martiage put us under some strain. Plus I was pregnant with #2 and we moved when the baby was 8 weeks old. And I'd had a caesarean. Stress factor of 10/10 on that.

almost a year later and it's been so worth it,

    just keep swimming!

Turns out that guy I spoke to was calling because I had done a 'see how much we could borrow' form. He was basically going through the same motions that our mortgage broker had previously done. Spoke to our lovely broker after I had a mini meltdown and the ball is rolling. We have a DIP, and our application was put through yesterday and we have to send off wage slips to the underwriter. The estate agent has received our ID's and can soon advertise the house as SSTC!! :]

I just hope we don't have to wait around too long, I wouldn't want to wait 7 months like Mini, I'd be going crazy.

Still waiting, house is now advertised as STC. However on the plus side I don't feel so stressed :]
