Struggling to decide on a hair do!

SarahW73, 25 April, 2013 at 23:07 Posted on Planning 0 19

So I have just under 4 months to go & I still haven't decided what to do with my hair! It's fine & my style is something you can't do a great deal with. I'm actually growing it at bit so I have more options. I don't really want extensions or a hairpiece as I'm worried it'll look too false. The only thing I've had done to my hair that's different is having it curled for a friend's wedding. Here are some pics to help you help me!

My hair as it is normally

My hair curled for the wedding (best pic I have unfortunately)

The only 'do' I've found on the net that I quite like! I have no idea whether it can be done to my hair though!

Inspiration desperately required!!!

    Hi!

I know the feeling- I have 57 days (well in half an hour) left and I haven't had a trial yet, although I am booked in on Monday.

Like yours, mine is fine although I have no fringe. It's a bit longer than yours but still only to my shoulders and I haven't had it cut for a year!!!!

I'm hoping to go for something like this:

    Or this

But I'll have to see on Monday whether it can hold the curls. Plus I last had it cut into an asymmetric shape so it's still a bit lop sided lol!! I'll update after the trial as I'll be going straight from there to my first dress fitting eek!!! Xx

Your hair is pretty much identical to mine although I have some layers which makes it slightly messier, and my hairdresser has been suggesting similar styles to the one in the pic. I'm thinking either something like that or just full on big volume (well, as much as can be created in super-fine hair) with a bouffant veil to give more oomph. The only thing I don't want touched is my fringe, I have to have my big full fringe or I feel naked!

This has been my favourite option so far but I think I'm swayed by the fact she has the same colour of hair as me so I can picture it better.

Ok, this won't really help but have you seen countdown? Rachel? The maths lady. And have you seen 8 out of 10 cats do countdown recently? Her hair is shorter than yours but the style is pretty cool as it's in a kinda up do for the 'night time' programme. I'm sorry that is so vague I'm tired lol But I know what i mean =]

Have you thought of a proper bouffant do rather than just volume? Similar to the photo below - it would look lovely with a side tiara or headband and your fringe. I remember when i had a bouffant before, a lot of it was just creating the volume then securing over with the clips so your hair could be long enough.

I really like your third option and as you're growing it you probably could do that.

Having said that, the pic of your hair curled would also look really nice on the day exactly as it is in that picture.

Have you considered half up and half down with the up bit having a bit of height?

Like this but obviously shorter version for you -

I do have a few layers but my hair is so fine they don't have much effect lol! The ones in the back were the shortest by they've grown down loads.

That style is gorgeous! Like you, I'd have to have my full fringe though x

I did see the 8 out of 10 cats version but didn't take any notice of her hair! I'll look it up, thank you x

This is really pretty & would work well with a tiara I might be wearing. Where would a veil go though?! I'm also not sure whether it's too different for me. I'd feel quite conscious of the huge bouffant! I think you can create anything with grips & loads of hairspray ?

Thank you. I have had my eye on that do for a while. I just need to find a hairdresser to try & create it! My hairdresser can't do it because I'm getting married on a Friday in term time & she'll be busy getting her kids to school. A girl she recommended gave up hairdressing just after we spoke. The girl who curled my hair in the 2nd pic told me to email her 3rd pic but hasn't come back to me!

That's something to consider, thank you! Like I said to someone else though, I'm not sure about a full on bouffant! I would keep a full fringe too x

Gorgeous!!! I'm hoping to be back to a copper colour (from the outgrown plum with mousy roots disaster I'm sporting at the moment)by the wedding... 8 weeks to go so I'd better crack on!!!

Not a clue lol!!! And now I've seen the copper haired pic on here I'm even more stumped!! Good thing I trust my friend - she can have the tendency to go a bit wild but hey, may as well go for something dramatic eh?! X

That's exactly the colour I was sporting until about 3 months ago. The plum was a nightmare to keep on top of! I lost patience with plum ends and ginger roots and ended up having it stripped. I don't recommend it! I fear it may take me until my wedding next May to get it anywhere near good condition again!
