I'm stumped. It's my birthday at the end of the month, and my husband wants to know what I'd like for my birthday. He's given me no indication of budget, but I tend to be a cheap date and feel guilty over asking for anything too expensive.
So far I've come up with new boots - I need some brown ones as I've had my old ones for a few years and they're looking a bit shabby. This could be a problem, as I have chubby legs which are likely to get chubbier over the next few months, but I'm hoping a decent pair will last me more than this season...
I also thought maybe some DVDs - there's a few series which I missed on TV but wouldn't mind watching at some point.
He's still asking me what else I want, though. I think maybe he wants several options so he can surprise me...
Clothes are not an option. I will need new maternity stuff in the next few weeks, but I would be most upset if I was given maternity outfits as a birthday present, and there's not much point in being given non-maternity stuff which I'll only be able to wear for a couple of weeks before putting it away until after the baby's born and I lose whatever weight I've put on...
I don't tend to wear much jewellery, either, and the smell of perfume is making me feel sick at the moment so I'm not using any of that...
I read a lot, and I did wonder about an e-book reader, but I thought they'd be too expensive. Plus I had a look at what books are available as eBooks, and it doesn't seem to be as many as I'd hoped. I'd still have to buy most of my books from a normal bookshop, printed on paper, which would kind of defeat the object.
I don't have any other hobbies, apart from reading and watching TV, although I do enjoy cooking when not too knackered (which is frequently, these days...)
