Anyone know anyone with a silly name? We have a lady in our drama group called "Theresa Greene" ... no word of a lie. She must *really* hate her parents for that!

I also knew a Mike Hunt (careful now) and a Robert Sole (R Sole) and a girl called Kelly whose married surname was Kelly. Why would you change it to become Kelly Kelly?

I went to school with a Donald Donaldson and Stephen Stephenson. I know it may be a family name etc, but if I was the mother I'd refuse!

There was a lad called Peter Peters at my school and I once came across a young boy called Beckham! Why, why, why would someone do this to their child.

My FIL is Dave Davies. I once knew a bloke called John Smith - he had to carry ID everywhere and was even scrutinised on his wedding night - they didn't want to give him the bridal suite becasue they thought it was a fake name.

I used to live up the road from a kid called James Bond, I went to school with a girl called January, and my sister went to school with twins called Autumn and Eden. My friends hubby has 'Chunky' on his birth certificate - his older sister called him that when he was born (oh he's such a cute chunky little thing!) and his parents said it as a joke when they went to register him as Chunky Charles - and the registrar actually put it on his birth certificate!

I had a friend at college called John Thomas (a euphemism for bloke's bits). His dad was also called John Thomas so they knew exactly what they were inflicting on their son!

There was a lady I used to work with named Annette Thomas....Pretty normal name, until she got married....She became Mrs. Annette Curtain... No joke!

She often spoke about keeping her maiden name, now we know why!

I was friends with a girl in school who's dad was called Lee Lee-Smith. No idea why his parents did that to him.

I know a woman called Gaynor. She is cool enough to carry it off but I can see why it's gone out of fashion.

I went to school with a girl who was called Olive Green.

However, the best one I know is my friend's dad, who is called Richard Balls. Why would anyone with the surname Balls, name their son Richard, when it can get shortened to Dick?!

I work as a midwife and it's always nice when the parents name their baby something even half reasonable..... Pocahontas (why), twins, named Samson and Delilah , Armani (not bad until you add in the surname Legg, Cliff, again not bad until you add surname...Leaper.

Before I was a midwife I was a nurse, I looked after a Heath Robinson, Roman Statue, Justin Case, Theodora Dudar are the most memorable.

LOL at some of the names posted here.....

At school, our kids get to choose their own English name. So far we have had Angel, Eagle, Creeper and O'Malley (a girl named after a man in Grey's Anatomy), and our friends had a boy called Peter Pan Lee. He would only answer to his full name in class too!
