Stupid question of the day...

kirstycat, 13 October, 2010 at 20:51 Posted on Planning 0 12

I know when you walk down the aisle you wear your ER on your right hand so you can put your WR on. But when do you put your ER back on to your left hand? (Told you it was a stupid question!)

I would of thought you put it back on once the ceremony is complete?

I often take shots of the B&G's hands throughout the Wedding Day. I would recommend that you don't switch your ER back onto your ring finger until after your romantic B&G couple photographs...

    I hope that helps!

Another not so daft question....why? Does it not look more odd to have them on separate hands in the pics? Was wondering this too ?

You're lucky if you can wear your ER on your right hand... my father kept a hold of mine in a wee velvet bag. After the ceremony I put it on with my wedding ring....

the tog never took any photos of the rings on fingers, bah.

I put mine on my right hand and put it back on when we were walking over to the table to sign the register, my WR is shaped to my ER so I was very conscious that imy WR looks a bit odd on it own so wanted to put the rings together ASAP!

Apparently...or so I was told when I got married...the tradition is that you wear your ER on your right hand for the whole day but I felt weird having it on there so swapped it over after the ceremony!

OOhhh, another good question... I think this is down to artistic merit. On your Wedding day, I don't think your Wedding fingers should look cluttered, they should look natural, virginial almost, that you're starting a new chapter in your lives together...

Blimey, maybe that's a little deep for this time at night!

My wedding ring is shaped aroud my ER and so it will look very odd without my engagement ring on, so while we walk over to sign the register I will be putting my ER back on.

My wedding ring will be shaped to my engagement ring so I will put my engagement ring on my left hand when we are signing the register or something.
